Walmart hates me. The feeling is mutual. 4/27/2007

Not to readers: We bought a newly built 4 bedroom home on 3/30/2007! Yay us!

I'm going to have a shirt made up, and I'm going to wear it every time I go to Walmart. It's going to say in big little across my chest...

ONE COUPON PER PURCHASE = ONE COUPON PER ITEM
ONE ITEM IS A PURCHASE
THE WHOLE %^%$$#$ THING IS A TRANSACTION

I have a big chest, so it will fit. I'm going to make up a lot and sell them to all my coupon friends.

Can you tell I had a bad trip to Walmart? Why do I do it to myself? Do I have some inner masochist that desires torture? Why do I take 11 free Electrasol coupons to Walmart?????

Because I'm not too bright today, and we needed a weedeater. Thankfully a lovely little survey printed out on the receipt, which made the CSM who'd just given fits none to happy. Here's my snitty little email, to which I expect NO response.

"I just returned from a very dissatisfactory trip from my local Walmart. I spent $218 in the store, and it took nearly 20 minutes to check out because neither the cashier Jen nor the CSM Christina are familiar with the use of coupons. I used 27 coupons for my purchases, and the register "locked up" after 25. The cashier and CSM then tried to convince me that a customer can only use ONE coupon in an entire transaction - i.e., for my entire $218 order I was restricted to using only one coupon. I know that this is completely incorrect, and tried to explain that one coupon per purchase means one coupon per item; i.e. that you cannot use 2 coupons on one item, but you CAN use more than one coupon if you have an item for each coupon. Neither could understand this very basic concept. I do not care to shop at this Walmart on a regular basis since I use coupons quite a bit, and other area stores such as Target, Publix, Winn Dixie, and Dollar General are much more "coupon friendly". I usually have a huge hassle over any type of coupons at Walmart. I really would appreciate if your associates could be trained to understand even the very BASICS of how a coupon is used, how to determine the validity of a coupon, and that retailers are reimbursed for the FULL VALUE of coupons plus an 8-10 cent handling fee. In short, Walmart makes extra money when I use coupons. If I experienced less hassle and less argument over what other stores see as commonplace, I might bring my shopping dollar to Walmart a little more often."

Sad thing is, I loved Walmart before I started to coupon. Oh well - we've got a $10 rebate on our new weed whacker. Woohoo!
