CVS - 10 June 2008 with bonuses

Posted 06-10-2008 at 09:09:59 PM by Kyrthira

Over the last week or two, I've made some small purchases at CVS. I forgot to include them, partly because they were pretty small and not quite worth mentioning PLUS they managed to be OUT of something I wanted each and every time I went. Talk about frustrating ...

We went grocery shopping today, so we went to CVS-A that's in the town our Meijer is in (as opposed to CVS-T, which is in the little piddly town I live in). THEY HAD EVERYTHING I WANTED!!! For once, my scenario went EXACTLY THE WAY IT SHOULD HAVE. It's about bloody time ...

There was a major snag -- the computer didn't want to take more than one ECB (I had four), so the manager had to do some fu and faked the ECBs by inputting it as cash -- except that I only had about forty cents, not the $1.55 they wanted. I scrounged up the rest of the change out of the 'take a penny' thing by the counter, but we were going to be short a dollar. The manager told us not to worry about it, but we asked if there was a way for them to add a dollar to the second transaction so that we could legitimately give him his one dollar. In the end we had them ring up two more candy bars that we didn't actually take. The manager seemed happy that we were nice enough to ask. I made sure to thank the manager for his time and patience in helping us out with the whole affair.

ON TO THE JUICY DETAILS!

Transaction #1:
Cheerios x1
Cinnamon Toast Crunch x2
Honey Nut Cheerios x4
Listerine Smart Rinse x3
Total: $33.81
Coupons: $6
ECBs: $22.65 + $4/$20 Email
OOP: $1.55 due to ECB snafu making tax more
ECBs gained: $10.47 + $10

Transaction #2:
York Peppermint Patties x4
Reeses Peanut Butter Cups x2
Hersheys Kit Kat x2
Starburst x2
Snickers Dark x4
Milky Way Midnight x2
M&Ms Dark Chocolate x4

My husband started laughing as we were leaving the store. He thought it was a little ridiculous that we basically bought $44 worth of stuff for a buck and fifty. He's starting to understand (:
