5th Shopping Trip
Posted 01-19-2008 at 11:18:24 AM by jkmur827
This is what we call the essentials - Costco. Of course, no coupons - rarely - and not on this trip.
I cook a lot from scratch - and just happens that I ran out of a lot of my "staple" spices - so I sent DH to Costco - and he did very well sticking to the list (mostly) - the stuff he got is acceptable to our budget as he uses them as snacks to keep at his desk at work rather than hitting the vending machine. Pretty much he got about $50 more stuff than I was expecting - so for him it was pretty good.
He said shopping that way (with a list) was pretty fast. I said it was fun - I don't think he agreed. He likes to go up and down every isle - but he knows that I'm doing this budget and so he's doing his best to stick to it.
Here's the breakdown:
Case Soymilk - 11.99
Potatoes - 6.99
50# Rice - 14.29
Onions - 4.79
