Update on DS

Posted 09-29-2008 at 07:11:43 AM by JessicaCoen

Well this is an update from a previous blog.
Recap- DS had many referalls to specialists after a routine check up.

I took him to the dermatologist come to find out he is going to need to undergo many laser surgeries. His first is schedualed for October 16th. I'm so nervouse. not of the surgery it self, but just knowing that he has to be put to sleep for it.

took him to the urologist the other day and he has something called dysfunctional elemination syndrome. so basically we have to push a ton of water (has to keep a water bottle at his desk at school, etc...) has to stay away from citrus fruits, no juice except for apricot juice (never even seen it before) has to go to the bathroom every 2 hours even if he just went. also has to sit on the toilet for another 5 min. after he thinks he is done, etc.. so basically he isn't emptying his bladder like he should and he is only just letting enough out to get the pressure to go away. so all the acid and everything is staying in the bladder all day until he goes into REM sleep and then he relaxes and floods the bed. I didn't take him because of the bedwetting it was because of the urgency and frequency during the day that had me concerned.

I take him to the hearing doc. this afternoon to find out why he failed his hearing test. I pray that everything turns out ok.

Took him to the ER yesterday because he was doubled over in pain, couldn't move. I literally had to pick him up off of the floor. of course the doc. just sent us home without even running tests. ugh....

poor kid is only 7 years old and seems like everything is falling apart on him..LOL I just feel so bad for him! missing school is going to be playing a major roll soon I think. I'm sure the teacher is going to call a confrence. oh well.

eye sight, hearing, birthmark, bladder, tummy issues, etc....

So sorry. It's so hard to see your child hurt. Hope you can find a doctor that listens and is able to help. As for the teacher, she'll understand. I was a teacher for 10 years. Just keep her informed. Goodluck!
