I personally count the rebate savings when I buy the product instead of the other way around. You could do it either way I suppose to show your actual OOP, then add in your rebates to extend the budget. It is just easier for me to do it this way.

I have a dry erase board by my desk. I write down all my rebates on there. who is giving the rebate, the amount, the date...

then when it comes in, I wipe it off the board

currently I am waiting on $85 in rebates, with new one going out all the time. It really helps with the budget!
