More free stuff! December 4, 2008

I took the girls for a haircut and had to make a run into Kroger after, lol.

2 4-strip Fleishmann's yeast used 45¢ coupons doubled
6 Cheetos used $1 tear pad
1 Lays stackers used $1 tear pad
1 Cracker Jack used $1 tear pad
1 Pedigree Good Bites used FREE item coupon
1 Yoplait Kids Trix yogurt used FREE item coupon
1 Pillsbury Savorings used FREE item coupon

As you can see on the first transaction...they PAID ME 6¢ for all the items!

This transaction came up to 8¢ so I handed over the 6¢ the cashier had just given me and he spotted me the other 2¢!

total available to spend $21.28

total saved for the year $6867.34

BTW the Savorings are the BOMB! I got the Buffalo Chicken kind....so good!

    Here is the observation
    Date Balance remaining
    11/08 - $128.58
    11/20- $ 42.06
    12/04- $ 21.28

So, you have spent $107.30 in less than a month. Why is so? Is it due to less deals available in maarket these days?
I have also observed that, upto August 08 you were on plus side of budget, after August it started declining.
I have also observed the same thing, till Auguust I was on plus side for all my CVS deals but after August it started going down.

Kate, a big chunk, $65 was spent on the frozen fruit, which will last me well into next year.

But yes, I think with the economy, there just have not been the great deals as there has been in the past.

If I were a brand new couponer at the beginning of this year, with no stockpile built up, I know for a fact I would not have been able to do this for $800.

Thus the importance of buying stuff at rock bottom prices and stocking up because you never know what the economy will do next.

For instance CVS October 2006, unlimited ECB back on 8 different items. I have never seen that since then. Now they limit it to one or two, sometimes 5 per card of a particular item. Again...a reason to stock up on things while you can.

I think my little experiment here has taught not only myself but many people the importance of stockpiling items when you can.

Jane 4 girls , I think it is awesome that you can do all this for 800.00 per yr.
I am not there yet and not sure if I could.
    * I think also what state you live in ,makes a difference also. Some states have different things/ stores/ rules to go.

OK... this may sound silly but what do you use yeast for? I'm assuming maybe you have a bread maker (which I don't have) but can you use it for other things?

I've just given away the fact that I'm not the best baker or cook!
