May 27, 2008 - Shopping with Patricia

Yesterday I had the opportunity to take a new friend from Channel 13 news in Houston around and show her how all the couponing is done. We went to Super Target and then to Kroger. I wanted to show her that you still can eat healthy while using coupons.

Target

4 Johnson Buddies soaps used $5/5 target coupon

1 Purell hand sanitizer used $5/5 target coupon and $1 mfg
6 Silk Soy milk used $2.25 IP on all that I traded for
2 Morningstar Farms used $2/2 Target coupon and $1 mfg
6 Archer Farms coffee used $1 Target coupon
1 Stoneyfield Farm tub used free item coupon

paid $5.xx on gift card, nothing oop

Kroger

Kroger stores have a new thing where you can add coupons onto your Kroger card. Then if you use mfg coupons on top of that you really maximize your savings!

That's so awesome! I wish I could go shopping w/you at your Target. We don't have a "super" target so the frozen items are limited. How much did you get the Morningstar items for, were they clearanced?

the MSF items were I think $2.99 each, but there is a $2/2 target coupon and also $1 mfg IP for them making them 99¢ each...we LOVE those!

Outstanding! Can't wait to watch the video.

Where are you going to put all the yogurt and Silk? Does soymilk freeze well?

No I don't think it would freeze well, but organic soymilk and yogurt has long expiration dates. The shelf stable soy milk that I got does not expire until December.

The refrigerated milk expires in July and the yogurt at the end of June....so we are good to go!

the $5 ONYO ended that day, the cat did not print, and I guess they knew it would not, so they took $5 off my order that I bought them on! Even better, lol!

LOL on the hot dogs, I know...but they are all beef and on sale for BOGO and I had a $3 beef WT, lol...plus we needed them for camping.

I know they are going to air the Kroger trip on the news to show all the healthy and organic stuff I got. That it can be done cheap with coupons.

As I said in the other place.. it was cool that you got to do that.. but I think it kinda sucks for some of us that had a hard enough time getting the deals. Just more $$ into my gas tank to find stuff in stock :(

Trishies13, I am not sure why you are so upset. I never wipe store shelves off. In fact, many times I pre-order stuff to make sure they stores have enough in stock.

The deals I got here in this segment were not even sale item deals...so no overwhelming rush to get them. Please explain your comments a little more so I may understand what you are upset about.

RANDMARE- I get free item coupons by contacting the mfg of the products. Most times they will send free item coupons out to you.
