Going to DisneyWorld...how much can I save? (Part 3)

OK now for the gas part. Mark thinks we should bring $400, and that'll be pushing it. We get about 300 miles per tank. It's a little less than 1000 miles from our house to the hotel. So about 3.5 tanks each way, 7 total.
It takes about $35 to fill our tank. I'll round it to $40.
40*7=$280
And $400 is pushing it? LOL
I'll keep the $400 figure and when we have extra money, we can spend it in the park or something.
Now...I'm a member of Mypoints, as I'm sure many of us are. I cashed out a couple months ago for Dinner/Movie GCs for Marks birthday so I don't have a whole ton of points. But so far I had enough for a $10 BP GC, and soon I'll have enough for another one.
Also, I've been bidding on a couple of gift cards on Ebay and won a Shell $25 gift card the other day! My winning bid was $24.71 (savings of .29), I paid with Paypal and had $5.55 in there from YouData, Pinecone, and FatWallet (which to me is free money), so my actual OOP was $19.26.
That's $5.84 less that I have to spend on gas!
I also will earn cashback from BigCrumbs since I used the Ebay link through their website, AND I have .50 in ebay bucks for making this purchase. That will be available by 7/9 and I'll use it to purchase something else trip related
Here's the math:
400 needed
-10 mypoints gc (free)
-25 ebay (19.26)
-----
365 still needed
Savings - $15.84!

We went to Disney this past February (free admission on my birthday!) and I used gas cards I had gotten from a Sears Dockers deal last year--of course, we were just driving from AL, but if Sears, Penney's or Kohl's offers a similar deal around Father's Day, it might be worth looking into! We also did the pressed pennies for souvenirs and my kids loved those! I let them pick out one souvenir in the park and they both chose a hat!
Also--did your travel agent tell you that you can trade two table service meals for one character meal, including the Royal Table? The regular table service meals give you enough food that you might be able to share and still get by--also in Downtown Disney, the Earl of Sandwich is probably the most reasonably priced quick-service restaurant in the entire resort area, and also has great food! For the kids, there is also a McDonald's there. You can also bring food into the park, especially when you have littles, and my guys were perfectly happy with a picnic PB and J by the lake that connects Liberty Square with Frontierland! Hope your trip is fabulous--take plenty of bottled water!Posted 05-05-2009 at 12:25:26 PM by thl

Yeah, we have 6 days so that's 6 credits each, we're doing Akershus breakfast with the princesses, Ohana breakfast with Lilo & Stitch, 50's Cafe, Chef Mickey's buffet, and the Luau at the Polynesian which is 2 credits. I thought about just paying OOP for 2 of the single ones and using those for Cinderella, but after pricing it out, it's cheaper to just pay Cinderella OOP.Posted 05-05-2009 at 10:23:12 PM by imhzgrlnotu
