Shopping Trip - August 6th

I had great fun on my shopping trip tonight. I tend to buy 99% of my grocery and household items at Safeway, because I get the best deals there, and most other stores are a 20 minute drive from me - and with gas prices as they are, it makes no sense to drive that far to save .50 cents. But today I had errands to run in that area anyway, so I got to take advantage of some great sales!
I started at Walgreens. They had a special today where you could get a roll of film developed for free, and I shoot a lot of pictures, so that's a great promo for me! After I dropped off my film, I also bought these:

OK, I have a lot of deodorant, but fortunately these don't expire till 2010. And I'm glad - I used to pay full price for this because it's one of the few brands that doesn't give me a huge rash!
They cost $3.96 after coupons, but I earned a $4 register reward for the purchase, which I then used to buy:

I put $12.04 on a gift card and spent $1.16 OOP - however, it will all be free after rebates, possibly with overage; I'm not sure how WAGS calculates coupons against rebate refunds. (The band aids were cheaper than I anticipated, so the RR also paid for part of the FAR items.)
Then I headed to Ross, and discovered a goldmine of clearance items! They had a rack of dresses priced between $2.49 and $4.00!! I snagged everything that fit me:

The total for all these dresses was $28.92 - not too shabby! I got a bunch of other stuff, and my total ended up being $106.85. That's a lot of money, but clothes are expensive, and I am the biggest fashion plate you'll ever meet, so I was happy. Here's the rest of my Ross haul:

File this under "Boring but practical". I have a hard time finding winter clothes that I'm willing to wear, so I snagged these sweater dresses because they were pretty cute on. And just ignore those hideous shoes - I loathe to wear them, but I'm having some temporary orthopedic problems, so it's a necessary evil.

I love the rockabilly dress that I found on clearance! The dress in the middle is for a wedding that I'm going to on Sunday, because I thought it'd be fun to have something new to wear. And the pink and black dress is just cute!
I also got a slip to wear with one of the dresses - so even though I spent more on this purchase than I spent on groceries for the entire month of July, I'm pleased with it!
(I'm going to need those free vacuum storage bags for all these clothes!)
And to finish the night off, I went to Fred Meyer and got 30 tubs of yoghurt for free.

| | Jane, the yoghurt was on sale 2 for a $1 at Fred Meyers, and one of the recent insets had a coupon for $1 off of 2 Darigold yoghurts; 7/13 SS, I think? Gourmet, it's funny that you mention the sizing - with the crazy vanity sizes at Ross, I can be anywhere between a 3 and a 14 on the same day. ![]() |
