Sigh

Posted 10-09-2009 at 10:16:49 AM by FreckleTown

Well, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. My husband owns his own business and has lost two large clients over the past two months due to the recession. Then we found out last week his MAIN client (that pretty much pays our "salary") just cut back on his hours by 40%.

So basically a 50% cut in pay for us. BUMMER! I have a masters in education but I can tell you that I'd pretty much do anything else but go back to teaching. Teachers are amazing people and I respect them for ALL the work they do. After 10 years teaching and now having my own kids in school, I respect them even more.

Due to our decrease in financial resources I knew I would need to make some money. I got back into couponing more (kinda slacked off for a bit) and took two cleaning jobs.

Yes, I'm cleaning houses. Part of me feels sad to say that but part of me feels so good to help contribute to the family fiances without having to go back into education.

Today I just feel a bit sad. Sigh. I know it will all work out because it always does. But some days just bring sadness with it.

After being laid off two times in one year I started cleaning a friends house just to bring in money till I found a job. Well it has been 7 months and I know have 13 house total. After getting to know all my home owners it is very nice. I make my own hours and can be home for my kids. The best part of it all is they leave me there Q that they don't use. So they are paying me to clean and giving me Q's. That just makes my day. Good luck

Wow, Troop... that's amazing! Good for you :-) I can't even imagine cleaning 13 houses... after cleaning two in one week I'm exhausted! Although it is good exercise :-)
