It just doesn't seem fair - February 17, 2008

Well, I sit here at the hotel.... worried. Tomorrow at noon, my family and I move out of the hotel and we have nowhere to go. And I mean NO WHERE.
It's so sad. My kids keep asking me where we're going?, where we're gonna live?, are we gonna live in your van?
*sigh* This is so stressful. You'd think that this would be a really happy time right now, seeing as how we just signed (closing) on our home yesterday. But it's not ready for us. Don't really know when it's gonna be ready either. They've still gotta wait for the ground to either freeze or dry up to pour the footers, do the block and bring our home in, and seeing as how it's gonna rain 7 out of the next 9 days, I don't know when that's gonna happen. Our money w/the ins. through our loss of use cap has run out. There doesn't seem to be anything that the hotel is willing to do. Not right now anyways.

I inquired a few wks ago w/the hotel's gen. mgr. about working at the hotel for a discounted rate or something, anything. I can out empty-handed. I'm trying so hard to stay strong, but it just doesn't seem to be working. I think the kids can really sense the tension and worry that TJ and I have. I never thought in a million years that we would be in this situation. And while I know and realize that it could be worse, ALOT worse, it's bad enough. And really it's just too much for me to handle at times.
I wish I could come and post an update that was better than this. And maybe tomorrow will bring a brighter day for us. But right now, it's not good (again). Please pray for us, we could really use any and all prayers that anyone could spare.

| | I just read your entire blog since the beginning. I am so sorry that you are in this position. I hope that somehow you are able to find accommodations. I was wondering if you could rent a trailer or RV or something that you could put on your land until the house was finished? I will be thinking of you and hope everything works out. |

| | Hi, I wish a fairy could transform your circumstances. I hope at this time that things are better for you. I thought about what I would do in that position, and thought that if my boys were worried and asked if we were to live in the van, I might say yes, we are going to go camping for a few days. Good luck,Take care, Helen |

| | Can you rent a room, trailer, house somewhere? Live with a friend or relative even if it is out of state or maybe even send the kids to live with a friend or relative untill you get your feet on solid ground? Have you inquired of local churches, salvation army, goodwill, and other charities? Have you asked at local shelters if there is someplace they can refer you to. I take it your DH is working are you? Would getting a job help your family out? Prayers to you and your family. |
