I can't sleep............
My mind is reeling, my stomach is in knots and I can taste what I had for dinner yesterday at 7 pm.

We find out today whether or not we were approved for the loan. Sometime around 3 pm EST. Maybe a little later. My inlaws are letting us borrow the 5% down. But there are things that we've come to realize that will need to be paid that weren't taken into consideration at first. For instance....
$500 gutters
$500 for a back porch
$400 gravel
$1600 taxes/ins.
$200-$300 for grass/hay
$150 dozer
$500 on old lien
AND THEN.... with our personal property coverage w/our ins. we have non-depreciative ins. HOWEVER.... when getting reimbursed, they "depreciate" the item, give you that that depreciated amount, you use that money, plus your own to cover the difference, buy the item and then submit the receipt and they reimburse you the difference. Roll Eyes Angry In our living room alone, I've found over $4,000 in content damage to replace. And I still have to tally the girl's room, the kitchen, our bedroom, misc. stuff and the bathroom (all my stockpile meds, large cabinet and TP Cheesy). There were 21 pks of Scott TP that I bought for $0.25/pk w/cpns and a sale, but I have to list retail price b/c that's what I could buy it for right now. There was about $80 just in TP!!!! Cheesy Cheesy Grin I'm thinking that I may have to use the "depreciated" money sent for everything and buy say a new couch. Send in that receipt and then go and buy some other things, send in that receipt and wait to get that money and well, "rinse and repeat" till I get all our stuff replaced. We don't want to have another line of credit b/c we had to finance a bunch of furniture that the ins. should just give us the money all at one time to replace what's damaged.
Just a little bit of advice.... for everyone.... look over your personal property coverage... make sure you have enough. Our cap is $21,000 and honestly, it's not enough. Start tallying things up at "retail/replacement cost". You'd be surprised at how it adds up oh so quickly. Wink
I mean c'mon.... you can't have $20,000 worth of structure damage and no property damage!!! I've got pics and non-biased witnesses (meaning they would gain nothing by lying about us not throwing something away), which we did. We filled a 30 yd. dumpster full of stuff and have the pics to prove it.
When you add it all up, who has that kind of money just laying around?!?!? Not me, that's for sure!
In order for us to be able to afford the house payment, we would've needed to pay our van loan off of $3300 first. We had our finances on such the straight and narrow and this is just blowing it completely out of the water. Looks like I'll really have to work on our budget and get it down even further from $268/mos. Honestly, I just don't see how it's possible to do that. I mean, that's for everything... food, cleaners, diapers, wipes, hba, etc... but the bills and gas money for our vehicles. And honestly, I was driving myself NUCKING FUTS trying to figure it out weekly to get the best deals to meet that budget each wk!!!!
We are getting (I hope I figured it right, been right all these yrs, but you never know), a sizable amount back from taxes, but my in-laws need at least $1200 back of the money they are letting us borrow as soon as we get our tax money back. We're just coming up short when it comes to the finances of all the things I listed above, paying them back and paying off my van. Undecided
Oh yes, on a side note.... the guy came up on Sat. and got the trailer ready to be moved. He couldn't move the building yet b/c Allied dumped an empty dumpster??? Not sure why, b/c all I told them to do was pick up the old one, we were done. Something else I gotta call about today. This guy is coming back this week, weather permitting, and moving the trailer out of there, moving the building and doing all the dozer work (pending that the dozer is available and we have the funds Wink ).
I appreciate it if you've gotten this far. I know something will work out. It always does, and truthfully, it has to. We have no home. We can't afford to rent. And there's no where else for us to go and live. I know that everyone has been praying for us, so if you don't mind, can you please say an extra prayer for us that this all gets worked out and we figure it out how to get everything done and we get approved for our loan? My husband and I truly, and honestly appreciate all the prayers, and support.

| | January 7, 2008 - another updateI need help to hang on to my faith and not give it up totally. Because for the life of me, I can't figure out why God would allow this to happen. And every time something like this happens and I start questioning God, I'm told that it's not God that's doing this but life. But what I want to know is WHAT HAVE I DONE THAT'S SO BAD THAT THIS WOULD HAPPEN? We got a call today that we were approved for the loan..................... BUT......................................... we can only finance the loan for 20 yrs @ 8.5% and the payment would be $559/mos!!!! We can't afford that. We can't afford that at all. And yes, we could try to go through other bank and another and another and so on to try to find someone that would finance for 30 yrs, BUT every time they check it through another institution we take a hit on our credit, which lowers the score and well, that's not good either. AND if we could afford it, which we can't, we would have to first pay off our van payment before they would consider doing the financing. Well, in order to pay the van off, we have to file our taxes and wait on that money first before we can pay it off. TJ won't get his w-2's till the end of this month. Last yr I filed right at the end of Jan. and opted for direct deposit and it took 6 wks for it to come in. Why, I don't know. We could go to someone to do a rapid refund, but that's VERY expensive, I've gone that route before and we can't afford to lose any more money to stuff like that b/c what we do have that's coming in isn't enough to begin with. And yes, I have thought about borrowing the money to pay off my van, but there isn't anyone to borrow it from. Undecided So there's another dead end. Why??? Why does this sh*t keep happening to us??? I just don't understand it! And to top it all off, b/c we aren't able to do the financing now, we'll have to move out of the hotel b/c w/out us "actively" trying to get into a new home, the ins. won't cover our cost here. And we can't just not tell them, b/c then they could come back on us. I'm at a loss. A total and complete loss. Defeated and lost don't even cover how I feel. ![]() Linda |
