Ok, I just can't help myself. After almost 5 yrs of dealing with this awful, crappy, pathetic, good-for-nothing dialup.......
I am now the proud owner of DSL!!!!!!!!!
It's been a REAL headache getting to the point, which included no internet for most of the day, having to do a complete PC Restore
, backing everything up before the restore and now trying to get everything back on here that I need, but hey, I have faster internet than what I did AND I can now talk on the phone and be on here at the same time!!!
You would think I've just won the lottery!!!

lol the old days, i remember living with my mom and having dialup. when me or my bro/sisters needed to use the phone and someone was online..we went to the phone away from the computer and started pushing random buttons to kick the other person off.
they will get all huffy and say the internet kicked them off again and we say well while your off..i need to call someone! lol
oh and spending an hour on the computer meant 10mins of acturly doin something. my mom was always saying..you spent almost all afternoon on that computer! lol no mom i've been spending all my time on WAITING for a page to load.
i don't miss it!! lol when i call my phone/cable/internet company to ask if there is anything i can do to save more money..they will say well only thing i can see is you can downgrade you internet..."no!!!!! we will starve before we turn off internet here! lol" im working on taking out cable but my hubbie doesn't approve :)Posted 02-20-2009 at 01:38:38 PM by lifeskills13 - You sound like me lifeskills13!! I would starve too before I will EVER go back to dialup!!!!! Having the dsl is like heaven! I had it before I moved out to the country (a.k.a "podunk" LOL) and it was murderous to have to go to dialup.
And I agree, for every hr you spent on dialup, you actually got about 10min of work done. Those days are over for me!!!!
