Trying something new

This morning I went to Albies to get the Green Giant Valley Steamers. They have them for .99 cents, so, of course, went nice with the $1 off q's.
Course, at the register the did beep, and the cashier said she couldn't figure out why they weren't going in, and made them go. I didn't say it might be because they were a penny over, in case they try to argue I can't use them when I can! But I got 6 bags. Also got two more boxes of Crest (I went last night, and got 6-some for my folks--as I have found they often change some prices early). I also bought 5 full size bottles of Dove shampoo/conditioner. They were 2/$7 ($3.50 each). But a tag also said to save $5 off when you spend $15 on the products. All the other Dove products were 2/$11, and I still had some $2 q's for the shampoos. (Was using them for overage on the clearanced out trial sizes at Walmart, but now those are all gone. :frown:) So, I used 5 $2 off q's. My total for everything was $9.90. I thought I instantly saved $5, but it was a $5 catalina. I wish I had more of the $2 Dove q's, because I could roll that catalina and get 5 more for $2.50 total (and tax) making them about .50 cents a bottle! But, alas..I don't! And the Dove q's in the RP I got in the mail for this Sunday has certain sizes listed, and and the $2 is for the big one! Oh well! I love Dove and Suave, so I was happy to get 5 full size bottles of Dove for so cheap! lol The small trial size bottles can only wash your hair so many times..lol
Today, I also signed up for my very first newspaper subsription ever! I kept debating whether I should or not, as I spend $1.50 every Sunday for the paper, and get several of extra at my Grandma's. With this deal, it's $17 a month, but you get 5 every Sunday! And now that I'm looking out for my brother and SIL, and my parents I thought it would be good to have extra q's! lol And I'm sure they'll pay for themselves. lol
Just hope I can get a lot of overage on some of those. heehee.. I wasn't expecting to pay $9.90 this morning, although I did get $5 cat back. But trying to save every penny, so I can pay the bills! It's not easy!
