So here is how my NEW budget is going to look:

$40 per week (down from $60 in 2009) for our household consumables- groceries, hba, cleaning supplies and paper products for me, DH and 2 ds's (6yo and 3yo) 3 cats and one mini pin (dog, <15 lbs) I am also including costs for my newspapers, I typically buy 5-10 every week.

I also do surveys to earn Paypal credits, some occasional rebates and pay-to-click for gift cards. These funds are funnelled back into my budget.

Here's to my goal of $2010 in 2010!

August 2010 Budget Challenge

Posted 08-03-2010 at 12:21:11 PM by Cynthiabutterfly

Not much to start August with.

CVS $10.98 ecb
$34.XX pp

$23.25 in free food coupons expiring this month.

Just going off my regular $40/wk budget, which gives me $160 for the month. Guess I'll just have to do what I can to make it work.

July 2010 Budget Challenge

Posted 07-06-2010 at 09:37:20 AM by Cynthiabutterfly

Starting July with:

CVS $29.83 GC $4.50 ecb
Target $12.75
Kroger $38.10 gc
$20 prepaid visa
$34.XX pp

$17.87 in free food coupons, some good ones this month including some Kraft frees.

I did use some of my Target gift cards for household items vs. consumables, but that’s ok, I’m well under budget for the year.

Mid-Year update

Posted 07-01-2010 at 06:59:52 AM by Cynthiabutterfly

Rather than carry over budget from month to month as I did earlier this year, I’ll keep the budget for each month separate, and then look at how much I am on track as a whole for the year.

Here is how my budget looks now:
YTD total spending: $801
Savings: $6,812
Savings percentage: 89%

Received $280 in gift cards and rebates. Used $150.20 in free coupons.

Budget remaining for the year: $1,188.66

Average weekly spending:...

I was down a little because I ended May over budget just a little, but the last few days turned around quick!

I got $20 Target and $10 walmart gift cards yesterday, then earned $140 today selling stockpile; spent $100 on CVS gc which I...
