So here is how my NEW budget is going to look:

$40 per week (down from $60 in 2009) for our household consumables- groceries, hba, cleaning supplies and paper products for me, DH and 2 ds's (6yo and 3yo) 3 cats and one mini pin (dog, <15 lbs) I am also including costs for my newspapers, I typically buy 5-10 every week.

I also do surveys to earn Paypal credits, some occasional rebates and pay-to-click for gift cards. These funds are funnelled back into my budget.

Here's to my goal of $2010 in 2010!

Christmas Budget Challenge

Posted 09-08-2009 at 06:27:33 AM by Cynthiabutterfly

I have also officially started my Christmas gift shopping, and for the second year I am sticking to a FIRM $10 per person budget, excluding DH and my kids. If I spend only $7, then I do NOT go over for anyone else, which was the mistake I made previously, and that caused me to keep going over for too many people.

I have accumulated lots of Mypoints this year too, plenty for me to get $10 gift cards for people that I don’t know what to buy for, or get gift cards and use them myself...

Posted 08-01-2009 at 05:14:55 PM by Cynthiabutterfly
Updated 08-01-2009 at 05:24:30 PM by Cynthiabutterfly (adding paypal info)

I did better in July than June, so I'm hoping to repeat (or beat!) that success in August.

My goal again for August is $25/wk. 4 weeks, so $100 for the month.

Starting the month with:

$15 paypal funds transferred to my bank
CVS $34.46 gc, 10.99 ecb
Walgreens $11.02 gc
Albertsons $2 oyno cats
Kroger $10.18 gc
And today I got $30 Tom Thumb gc for a transferred RX. I've got one more that needs to be refilled soon, so I'm going...

July Challenge - Live off your Stockpile

Posted 07-01-2009 at 12:19:57 PM by Cynthiabutterfly

Ok, so I've agreed to do this challenge 2 months in a row. I am happy with my results for June, I cut my budget from $60/wk to just over $30/wk. I'm aiming for $25 per week.

I'm starting out with:

$13.36 Walgreens GC (didn't go at all in June)
$10.54 CVS GC + $11 ecb
$3 oyno for Albies
$2.50 oyno for Kroger

$28.31 in free coupons that expire in July
+ $26 in free dog food coupons expiring 8/3.

Lots of paypal cash, but...
