So here is how my NEW budget is going to look:

$40 per week (down from $60 in 2009) for our household consumables- groceries, hba, cleaning supplies and paper products for me, DH and 2 ds's (6yo and 3yo) 3 cats and one mini pin (dog, <15 lbs) I am also including costs for my newspapers, I typically buy 5-10 every week.

I also do surveys to earn Paypal credits, some occasional rebates and pay-to-click for gift cards. These funds are funnelled back into my budget.

Here's to my goal of $2010 in 2010!

I did do some shopping on the weekend, but then I was in bed sick for 2 days so I didn't get a chance to post until today.

    -1/1 coke from RecycleBank
    - (2) $1 ecb
    = $0

    Walgreens

14 pkgs Martha White muffin mix .89 - .55/2 insert
    soda water .59
    5 Oikos yogurt $1 -1 insert
    = $25.13

Got enough jeans tokens on the Special K to get $10 back.

    January 10
Kroger (again, couldn't pass up the special K deals!)
    6 special K cereal bars - 1/2 insert
2 gallons milk Free wyb special K
2 dz. eggs Free wyb special K
2 loaves bread Free wyb special K
12 pkgs Martha White muffin mix .89 - .55/2 insert
    Yoplait delights $1.99

So in 2 days I wrecked my budget. I have to spend money again today for newspapers, and I haven't clipped everything from last week's paper yet (5 inserts, I bought 16 papers) I really need to make my budget work this month, because of the holiday and a few other bills, my other budget is very very tight also, so I don't have any extra room to overspend on my groceries.

I stayed busy over my 3 day weekend without shopping! I was potty-training my almost 3yo DS, I started some seeds for my garden, and made a turkey dinner!

Had to get jam yesterday (it was a pb with no j emergency!)
    Kroger
    Grape jam $1.35
    strawberry preserves $1.79
    6 Swiss Miss cocoa $1 - .50/2 insert, doubled
    2 Hostess powdered donuts $2 - .45 insert, doubled
    3 Maruchan yakisoba soup .89 - .50 insert, doubled
    3 Birdseye steamfresh $1 - .35 insert, tripled
3 Banquet selects frozen meals $1.29 -.35 from inside banquet meals, tripled
    3 Pillsbury brownie mix $1 - .40 insert, doubled
    = $9.66 OOP

I can't believe I am actually thinking this, but I may not buy any papers this week- the 1/17 inserts do not have anything I need! Of course, if I don't buy papers, then next week there will be a great sale and I'll miss it.

With 9 days left in the month, I have:

    $1.64 remaining budget

    CVS $14.99 ecb + $10 gc

I was really hoping for some PP funds but I haven't gotten any surveys this month, and my auctions haven't all gone well either.

    2 welch's jelly $3 - $2 RR
    = $1 oop

    January 24
Bought something non-household related for DH on a GC, he gave me $3 to spent at Albies.

    Albertsons (1st trip)
    trans crab $2 -1/1 IP
4 totino's pizzas .99 - $1/4 cat (printed after I scanned my 2nd pizza, was able to use it on the same trans)
    4 Maruchan yakisoba - .50 insert, doubled
    2 hefty bowls $1.50 -.50 insert, doubled
    2 hefty plates $1.50 -.50 insert, doubled
    O organics canned beans $1.19 -1/1 cat
    = $6.32

    CVS
Returned a pain reliever I bought for DS that he didn't end up using because it was the 'wrong kind' = $4.49 on moneycard

    2 V8 $6
    CVS mega pack diapers $9.99
    - $9.99, $5 ecb
    =$1.05 on GC
+ earned $1 ecb for V8 and $2 for diapers

Then my brother came over, and wanted cookies (I didn't have any in the house) so he gave me $4 to buy a pack, and I had to return a movie to Redbox (there's one inside Albies)

    Albies trip #2
    4 totino's pizzas .99 - $1/4 cat
    4 Maruchan yakisoba - .50 insert, doubled
    2 hefty bowls $1.50 -.50 insert, doubled
    2 hefty plates $1.50 -.50 insert, doubled
    O organics canned beans $1.19 -1/1 cat
    = $5.32

    Walgreens
    Oreos $3.99
    3 Dr. Pepper 2 liters $4
    - $5, $2 RR
    = $1.55
+ earned $2 RR for Dr. Pepper

Now I'm considering transferring $ from pp to cover my budget surplus if things don't change before Sunday. I also requested some GC from MyPoints, so my account is now depleted.

You do so great with your shopping.

Don't let one month of being over budget get you down.

I read your blog all the time and I know you do really well consistently.
Lots of guys only buy junk or freebies where as you buy organics as well as food items.

    Great Job~!~
