So here is how my NEW budget is going to look:
$40 per week (down from $60 in 2009) for our household consumables- groceries, hba, cleaning supplies and paper products for me, DH and 2 ds's (6yo and 3yo) 3 cats and one mini pin (dog, <15 lbs) I am also including costs for my newspapers, I typically buy 5-10 every week.
I also do surveys to earn Paypal credits, some occasional rebates and pay-to-click for gift cards. These funds are funnelled back into my budget.
Here's to my goal of $2010 in 2010!

One trip to Tom Thumb
1 to Target
2 to Kroger
4 to Albertsons
All this, plus charcoal, 10 12pks of sodas, meat for grilling, hot dogs, sausage, and buns of course, plus a stockpile of diapers... and I went over budget by $32.
However, I have lots of leftovers from Memorial day weekend cookouts and $12 in oyno cats to get me thru this week, if I can resist stocking up on more sodas and diapers!
It really is a work-in-progress to get great deals on things my family wants and needs, without going overboard. Of course the benefit for me when I don't go over budget, is that I do have more cash on hand to buy non-food stuff like clothes and stuff for the house and garden. So I really just have to choose if I want to spend the money on grocery deals, or if I want to have some mad money!
