So here is how my NEW budget is going to look:
$40 per week (down from $60 in 2009) for our household consumables- groceries, hba, cleaning supplies and paper products for me, DH and 2 ds's (6yo and 3yo) 3 cats and one mini pin (dog, <15 lbs) I am also including costs for my newspapers, I typically buy 5-10 every week.
I also do surveys to earn Paypal credits, some occasional rebates and pay-to-click for gift cards. These funds are funnelled back into my budget.
Here's to my goal of $2010 in 2010!

My Plan

I tried (and failed miserably) earlier this year to set a firm $60 a week budget. This is for me, DH, 2 DSs (ages 5 and 2) 3 cats and 1 small dog.
My budget has to cover all coupon costs including newspapers and stamps, Groceries, HBA, paper items (including things like foil and ziploc bags, baking cups), cleaning supplies, dog/cat food, cat litter, diapers and fast food.
The first two weeks I tried this budget, I spent over $120 each week. I am trying to look at my 'regular' coupon spending over the last months and this month to determine a budget goal for the new year.
At this point, I have rebuilt my stockpile after moving a few months back. I am now determined to stick to $60 a week for all of us, and if I run short then we will live from the stockpile. If I am under budget for the week, I will carry my budget over to allow for stockpiling opportunities.
