Nov 09 to date 142.35 / YTD 142.35

Posted 11-10-2009 at 08:23:44 PM by crouton

We got takeout at Checkers tonight. I had two survey codes for two free Big Bufords with purchase of a large drink and I had a coupon for an .89 checker burger. I also got a drink to go with the burger.

We got the 2 free burgers, 2.09 x 3 large drinks and .89 checker burger. With tax, the total was $7.75.

We figured that with the free burgers and discounted burger we had a $15 meal for almost half price.

I was going to do a CVS run today but forgot my CVS...

2009 / 2010 Ytd - $134.60

Posted 11-07-2009 at 07:21:55 PM by crouton

Dh and I were heading back to our old house to pack and clean this morning. He had to go into work for a couple of hours first, so I went to McD's to get us some biscuits for breakfast.

2 Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuits $5.54
Used 2 $1 gift certificates -2.00
Cash OOP $3.54

Found about $2 in change as well while cleaning the house today. I have 2 more packs of McD's certificates too but I can't find them right now....

CVS Round 2 - YTD spent $131.06

Posted 11-04-2009 at 04:51:38 PM by crouton

I went back to do the 2nd round at CVS to get the extra $10 ECB with the cold meds. Total OOP was $17.83. I used my $7 ECBs from yesterday. I had no man Q to use.

I got the $10 ECB as well as some more coupons. I got a $2/$10 and one for $2 off Gold Emblem nuts.

I think we are set for cold stuff. I don't know if I'm going to be able to roll the $10 next week. I may just spend it on grocery items next week and then start over with the ECBs. I'm not sure yet.

Starting off November 2009

Posted 11-03-2009 at 10:44:17 PM by crouton

I figure I'm in a good place to see this work for two reasons. One, I just moved and I'm starting over with almost everything. And two, I have no stockpile and I'm brand new with coupons.

As I said, I want to spend $3900 or less for one year on food (grocery and eating out), HBA and Pet food (average $75 week / 52 weeks). I'll count pet shampoo & litter, but I'm not counting medications or anything for them.

I think I did okay at Kroger. I took part in a ten item...

Huddle House savings

Posted 10-24-2009 at 08:11:39 PM by crouton

This isn't in the challenge that I'm starting on November 1, but I thought I'd share. We ate dinner at the Huddle House tonight and we had coupons. Before coupons, dinner was $26.48. After coupons - $20.58. And she even threw in a to-go drink for my son as well. We'd all been drinking coffee and he wanted a soda to take home.

Good thing we had coupons as I only had $25 on me!
