Since my other blog got deleted, I am going to post how I plan to spend my $2000 visa prepaid card.

Here is how I came to have $2000 to spend. Walgreens/Wyeth had this promotion last year when you bought 4 Wyeth products you qualified for 4 $25 spa reward certs. To make a long story short, there were many problems with this promotion and Wyeth finally decided to offer a prepaid visa card for your unused certs. This is what I bought:

80 packs of Robitussin cough drops

Walgreens had them on sale one week for 3/$2 or .67 each

.67/bag
-.35/coupon
=.32/bag x 80
= $25.60
+ 1.79
=$27.39

So for $27.39 I got $2000.00

I do have to pay taxes and will get a 1099 but am hoping to make $$ buy doing deals, rebates, etc. to make up the taxes.

I welcome posts to help me decide how to stretch this $$$$. I have to use up this card by 10/08

I am planning on buying gift cards like Wal-mart, CVS, Walgreens, Winn Dixie, restaurant, etc. so will be looking for deals on these.

Also, anyone know if I can tie this to my paypal account and, transfer to my paypal account and earn the interest from them?

Spending my Wyeth $$

Ok, made my first transaction today. Since I believe in giving 10% of everything I have, I sent a $200 contribution to UAB Cancer Research (this is where I go for check-ups)

Running total:

$2000
-$200
=$1800

My plan is to buy gift cards off ebay, etc. use my paypal account to get them less than face value and take the $$ off this card to replace the paypal card that I use for groceries, gas, etc. I will keep a running total as well as how much I net from doing this. I hope to get it up to $1000 return net on the cards which is ambitious but who would have thought a $27 investment would net me $2000 so all things are possible.

Do you earn interest on the money in your paypal account? I know that RME is a non interest account.

I think you could turn it into cash through PayPal? If you knew someone you trusted with a PayPal account. And you lose like 3%.

I love Kroger gift cards, I'd put all of the money into that.
