I get discouraged when I post in blog and no one comments :frown: Sometimes I check and read other blogs and then notice that it was written 3 or even 4 months ago! So I feel silly posting a comment that is so out of date to the writer. So I'm wondering is there some set rule in cyber etiquitte that states when it's too late to respond to someone's post???? And then I wonder if I'm the only who worries about these things... Maybe I'm paranoid... Maybe the FBI, CIA, AAA and AARP aren't really all out to get me...

This morning I was lying (is that supposed to be lying or laying...) in bed and I heard the dog make that crying/whimpering noise that he does sometimes, especially when he wants to go out. Now he does this any time he wants to go out, not just when he HAS to go out. Sometimes he just want to go outside and play and he makes the same noise. He also makes the cry or whimper noise when he bone goes under the couch and he can't retreive (why can't i spell today??) it. So I wasn't sure what was causing the crying sound. I looked at the clock and it was 6:57am. I pushed back the blankets to get out of bed and let the dog out. But suddenly the crying stopped. I wondered if one of the kids had gone downstairs but I feared the worst.... That the dog really DID have to go out and he no longer needed to go out :S And yup, that's what happened. I heard the kids go downstairs first and I figured, Surely they would tell me if the dog had pooped in his cage. No one came upstairs with a poopy report so it must not have happened. Then hub goes downstairs and comes right back up to tell me that the dog had pooped in his cage. On his last night here. Yup, he's noto my dog. I'm only dog sitting! He's been here for 9 nights now and the owner is supposed to pick him up today. Can you believe she still hasn't called or come over?! Anyway, so I get dressed and go downstairs and it is a huge MESS! It wasn't just poop, it was diarhea (did i spell that one right??? I need to try out the spell checker on this thing!) So it was all over his cushion in the cage and had spilled out onto the carpet and don't worry, he sat in it too. So I tie the dog's leash to the deck railing and i start to walk him from the cage to the back door. Guess what, the dog doesn't like the poop either so he starts to shake his whole body so he can remove the poop from his fur and get it all over me and the kitchen! Nice of him to share :S So once the dog it oustide I go to evaluate the mess and figure out what to do first. Somehow the kids are eating breakfast (hub gave them some cereal) and I'm gagging on the stench of diarhea that has taken over my house. After I manage to refrain from puking on top of the diarhea, I roll up the cushion and take it outside to hose it off. Hub starts spraying the carpet with some reslove. Then I put the soaking cushion into the washing machine (washed it twice). Then I take out the plastic bottom piece that the cushion goes on top of. I hose that down outside too. Then I wipe off all the wires to the cage and start with the carpet. Since hub has already tried using the carpet spray, I know i'm gonna have to bring out the steam cleaner. Luckily I still have the one that my mom gave me about 8 years ago when I bought my first house. But as you might expect, it broke several years ago too. It wasn't new when my mom gave it to me. She gave it to me beacause she had gotten one of those fancy upright steam cleaners. I don't use it often. I like to think that my house just doesn't get that messy, but the reality is that i'm lazy :P So I pull out the steam cleaner and I'm able to find the steam cleaning detergent. At least one thing is going right today! I fill it up and drag it out to the living room where the mess is. I set it up and plug it in and hub stands over me and watches. Then he starts critquing my techinque. Now what is this skillful technique that I use??? I have to hold the hose the sprays the water and detergent in one hand and hold the scrubbing and suction apparatus in the other hand. I have to hold the spray hose close to the floor so that it doesn't shoot the water and detergent all over the place (yes I've been sprayed :S). But it is working at least the carpet is getting clean. The carpet is old and I've been wanting to replace it since we moved here, which is almost 2 years ago now. But we also needed a new car and a new roof, so we've had no problem finding other ways to spend money that we don't have. So dog sitting was supposed to help pay for new things that we havn't gotten yet. I guess it was the dog's way of telling me to go ahead and buy that new carpet, I deserve it! So that's how my day started....

My 4 year old son has been wearing pull ups at night since he was potty trained about 1.5 years ago. Last week I found some pull ups (actually the pampers easy ups) on Clearance at Walgreens and bought 4 packs each for $2.50-$3 each  So Guess what he has gone 6 days stright without an accident overnight. Now, its not just the fact that I stocked up on pull ups, that bothers me. Yeah there is the little "mom" part of me that is sad to my little baby growing up. But that "mom" part only last for a second and then I remember that I'm lazy and I need my sleep! I'm lazy and I dread having to wake up in the middle of night to change wet clothes and sheets and then get my toddler to go back to sleep :nono77: Of course that is also the selfish part of me. Should I continue to have wear pull ups just because I'm being lazy? But how do I know he's ready? Before this he had an accident EVERY night! It's not like he went from every 3 nights to every other night to dry 6 nights in a row. He went from wet every night to dry every night. I'm not ready for this! But it looks like I'll be selling some pull ups on ebay soon :wink7: So here's the lesson for today, kids. I'm sure almost everyone already knows this "mom" rule but I'm going to repeat is anyway. You should never stock on something that your kids need or love because the minute you do, they will suddenly hate it or outgrow it :shrug7: (Yup, that will be included in future additions of the mom handbook given out in hospitals when the baby is born.)

When did wearing jeans become dressing up?

Let me start off by saying that hub promised to be home "early" tonight. It's 7:12pm here and i've just finished my second glass of wine. So i got dressed this morning in sweat pants... they are actually new sweat pants if that makes any difference. I bought them last week at sears. I've had a real hard time finding atheltic clothes in my size. Why do think that short women don't wanna exercise?!?! and dont' try looking for maternity clothes in petite either. Apparently someone decided short women shouldn't get pregnant. So I digress. I got dressed this morning in sweat pants and thought that I would do laundry today (it's done but still needs to be folded and put away. any volunteers???). So the plan was to put on my favorite pair of jeans when they came out of the dryer. They came out of the dryer and went straight to the laundry basket. I thought that i would wait till i got done with chores. Someone my jeans became my nice clothes and i didn't want to get them stained. So then I finished my cleaning for the day (actually to be honest, i remember paying bills and going to a few stores like walgreens, safeway and albies, but i don't remember doing any cleaning... ok, this may explain why i never got changed AFTER cleaning because I never actually cleaned! and so I digress again...). I then thought, Oh, I'll just change into jeans when I pick up my son from kindergarten. I don't want to embarass him at school, showing up in seatpants. Well when its time to pick him up, I'm tired and i look in the mirror and think, "i don't look bad in sweatpants. These make me look athletic." So I pick him up and of course a 5 year old doesn't even notice. Ok, So my next thought is that I'll change to jeans when hub comes home. He told me in the morning that he would be "early" tonight. Implying that I should make plans to go out for dinner or maybe at least out for ice cream after dinner. well, he usually calls before he leaves work or on his way home from work (i think its more to tell me that he wants his dinner ready but he acts like he's just calling to let me know... ok, i know the maid!). So it's now 7:21 and I'm stuck wondering when did wearing become dressing up?!?!?! I used to work in an office and jeans were worn only on casul friday or by the few that dared push the limits of office "casual"!
Umm... so where was I..... oh yeah, somewhere through today, I became that mom that I didn't want to be. the mom who wears sweatpants all day long and thinks that jeans are reserved only for "dressing up. " I amy need another bottle of wine!
:happydrunks:
