Silk Milk Scam :(

Posted 06-09-2008 at 12:53:36 PM by cbobylev

Yikes... yest I bid several dollars on 20 q's for $2.00 off silk milk w/ no exp date and won today I came across a scary article on ebay about silk milk fraud. The article (below) describes the coupon I won (but havent paid for yet thankfully). Should I be worried? Have any of you heard about this before? I noticed that this seller have sever silk q's for sale. Should I go ahead and pay for them or report this guy? I'm sad - i was so excited about those q's and that was my first time bidding - only to find out I could be fraud. Suggestions please....

Fraudulent $2 Silk Soymilk coupon with No Expiry

There is a coupon circulating for $2 off one Silk Soymilk that has no expiration date. That sounds like a great deal but you know what they say about a deal that sounds like it is too good to be true....the coupon is not valid. Don't be a sucker like me and buy some.
I found out from the Silk Soymilk company itself that at one time their company offered people this $2 off coupon when they signed up to join the Silk website for email offers and their newsletter. The coupon was downloadable and was one per person. Then some people got the bright idea to get their coupon but make tons and tons of copies and sell, trade or auction them.
Silk has disabled the link (which you can still find if you do a search on the web) but that won't stop all the people who are still making copies from the coupon they already have.
The best thing to do is contact the Silk Soymilk company yourself and ask if they will send you a coupon. You can find their contact info by email and phone just by running an internet search.
Many stores are no longer accepting this coupon. Because of this coupon, and other fraudulent coupon copies, many stores won't accept internet coupons at all, even legitimate ones. Kroger stores nationwide will not take internet coupons that are over 99 cents. Fake coupons are affecting us in ways we don't even realize and ruining great deals for all of us.
I've noticed the price of Silk Soy Milk go way up in my city and I believe the numerous copies of this $2 coupon are behind it. The copies that can be made are infinite and as long as they are still circulating and being accepted at stores what other choice does the Silk company have but to jack their prices up? How could they stay in business otherwise?
Those of us who love Silk Soymilk are going to suffer as long as these fake $2 coupon copies are still making the rounds. Silk loves suggestions and it you have any in regard to stopping this coupon or how to prevent something like this from reocurring, email the company and let them know.

Thanks Erin! Who do I report them too? I already contacted the seller and told them I would report them and I copy and pasted that article.

    Thanks,
    Crysta
