Journaling to keep track of my new experience with coupons.
In a Hurry is Not So Fun

Yesterday was a non-stop day. Agility with Trooper in the morning, stopping to get a paper first of course. Then pick up my MIL and head out to grandpa's for father's day, where we stayed much later than I expected. And I STILL had to go to Fred Meyer.
I did manage to get a few good deals for the 10 minutes we spent shopping.
Ball Park hot dogs (normally around $4) were on sale for 2/$3 and then they had a coupon to get 4/$5 making them $1.25 each. I had traded away my buy two BP hot dogs and get one Sarah Lee bun free but thankfully I found a handful right by the hot dogs.
But there were NO hot dog buns. Seriously there were two bags left and they were not Sara Lee. I grabbed the only two left (different brands even!) and asked for them to substitute so I got them free. They were both cheaper than SL though so only worth $2.99 free. But still free.
Then I got one of those Bertolis frozen dinners which are normally way too expensive at $8.99, on sale for $5.99 and then a $2.50 off coupon making it $3.49. I need to dig up a couple more coupons and go back for some more to have on hand. They look convenient and my MIL says they're yummy.
Bulk Almonds are on sale for $4.99/lb but of course they were OUT again so I got a rain check. They need to realize that when they are on sale they sell out fast. The raw ones at least.
Oh I also got two Hillshire sausage links (turkey) for $4, normally $3.99 each. I'll freeze them and use them later. They are super yummy.
All total I paid $37.95, which isn't nearly as much as I normally pay for our weekly groceries, but since I'll be going back won't be my final.
I saved ... $28.49 with sale items, store coupons, and manufacturer's coupons and we are well stocked for hot dogs. Though I may get some more during the week since I really like BP hot dogs. :) Maybe they will have restocked! LOL
Plan to stop by Rite Aid and Walgreens tonight. WML!!!
