Summer Debt Payoff: Round One.4-Sallie Mae

Posted 07-10-2009 at 10:26:54 PM by BringontheWonder (Financial Freedom)

We received a refund check in the mail today for $215.40 from a rental car company as a result of complaining about horrible customer service. We went on vacation recently and our rental SUV was not available until 3 hours after the requested time. We had prepaid, and did not want to spend money again for another rental car from a different company. We had booked over a month in advance, and the folks manning the counter gave the SUV that was meant to be for us to a person who was loudly complaining....

Summer Debt Payoff: Round One.3-Sallie Mae

Posted 07-03-2009 at 08:31:08 PM by BringontheWonder (Financial Freedom)

Sent in $303.87 to Sallie Mae today. That's the regular monthly payment and will bring the account down to about $3400. I had planned to send in $600 or so today, but we bought some supplies to replace part of our fence last week, and that cut into debt reduction efforts. It felt great to be able to pay CASH for the supplies, though!

How I'm Reducing Debt

Posted 07-02-2009 at 03:22:31 PM by BringontheWonder (Financial Freedom)

I definitely save money each week in grocery shopping by not having to buy HBA, paper products, and those once-in-a-while items that seem to cost a lot. Those were huge budget-busters on our grocery list in the weeks when we ran out. It's just me and my dh, so we don't have a lot of extra expenses...
