Can't seem to get a handle...

So my 16 about to be 17 year old sister is moving in with us this coming weekend. I have been trying for about a week now to get my house organized.
She is going to be sharing a room with Natalie for the time being until we move, so we have ordered a new set of bunk beds. Billy still needs to go buy the mattresses after work today, and I still need to buy 2 twin comforter sets.
I also need to get a new bookshelf, a pet net, and storage containers. For some reason I haven;t done all this yet.
It seems that the more I try to organize, the more cluttered everything seems. :mad6:
Our flight leaves Friday AM, and I still need to get that stuff together, and pack the kids stuff for their weekend with grandma.
Maybe if I just stop trying the organizing fairy will come and sprinkle some magic dust....

| | Answer and Request: Housefairy.org Coupon Number? There are two websites that are very helpful for housecleaning and organizing. If you need help from your kids try Housefairy.org it sets up a deal where you can give your kids coupons from the "House fairy" that are good for things that they cannot predict. Since these things can be things like iTunes or even after really good progress an iPod it can appeal to even old teens (or Dad!). You can imagine other kinds of rewards for Dad or whomever. Also, other kinds of rewards, such as trips, Boss day where they get to make decisions within a limited framework for the day, a trip to the pizza charnal house, whatever. You can get a $13 kit and somewhere you can get a coupon number that gets you a discount. Anybody know where you can get the Housefairy.org coupon number? Flylady.com is for you and is about cleaning and organizing your house without losing your mind. Despite its name, a lot of men subscribe too and you should see her Flylady icon. If ever there was a screamingly funny good fairy for housecleaning, hers is it. Start with a clean sink, put on your shoes.... It is sort of a support group that will mail you discrete doable things to do every day that only take 15 minutes do do. Its a philosophy that helps keep cleaning from being overwhelming. You set a timer. 15 minutes later you stop. Then, maybe you start again. Probably you do. But you stop after another 15 minutes. Knowing you have those breaks coming makes a huge difference to your mental health. While you can buy stickers and whatever it costs nothing to join and get the newsletter. Our family uses both sites. Maybe someone else can give you feedback about Housefairy since we've just started using it, so far so good, but there is no doubt that the Fly Lady has been a huge success with many people including us.
