The coupon song fun facts!!!!

I am new to couponing and luckily I have someone awesome like Okaliedokalie and the Kansas couponing group to teach me how it is done! 
The first week that I joined the group we make a couponing music video and entered it into the crazy coupon contest here on hotcouponworld.com
Here are some fun facts about the creation of the coupon song and music video!!!!
We had a ton of fun making the video!
In the music video, I (Bestbirths) am the first person getting out of the blue van with the globe.
When I saw my girls flapping on video when I ran outside of CVS, I went out and bought a new bra.
I was able to do this because I saved so much money this month with couponing.
My mom Granny51539 is the older lady getting paid to take olay bars. Family has seen the video from across the country and asked if she is ok, because she coughed.
Okaliedokalie is coming in and out of Super Kmart. The boy spinning the globe on his finger is okaliedokalie's son. I believe one of her sons got the strike while bowling. It is rumored that they used the banquet coupon for free bowling. At the bowling alley, there is the hotcouponworld logo in the shot.
The dog chewing and chasing the hotcoupon world globe is okaliedokalies coupon eating dog that is in her avitar.
He really does eat coupons irl.
Okaliedokalie wrote the coupon song poem to the tune of "why can't we be friends" as a response to a man coming into a thread on hotcouponworld.com who really had a problem with couponers in general. The thread was pulled but a new thread with the lyrics to the coupon song was returned as the "Why can't we be friends thread". Okaliedokalie did all of the video editing.
Okaliedokalie also stars in another video on youtube and in the crazy coupon contest called "couponing, the informercial". In this video she gets paid to take KY jelly, it is the little 'something' extra at the end. In real life, Okaliedokalie got paid $2.00 or $2.50 to take the gift packages of KY because they were clearanced for $.50. The cashier would not give her eye contact during that transaction. I think she bought 30 packages. She also purchased meat, whipped topping, dog collars, and various phallic veggies with her coupon savings.....and I have got to tell you...I have never thought of using a spinbrush quite that way before.
Bestbirths changed the poem "Why can't we be friends" lyrics around a little so that it would fit with the music. I called the musician and sung him the changed lyrics over the phone from my car while my son was inside getting a $6.99 greatclips haircut with a peelie Q from a box of papa john's pizza with 15 minutes to leave for a fundraiser.
The coupon song was recorded by musician Joel Cachero. Joel is a student at Wichita State University. When he was two years old and my son was one year old, the two boys toddled into the neighbors yard and met each other. Joel's family lived two houses away. Joel and my son are best friends. He recorded the music for us free of charge even though I believe it was finals week. All of the voices in the song are him.
I told him it was for a crazy coupon contest and he could "go crazy" with it. He used a reggae style beat for the song. At the end, we think the rice shaker thing sounds like change or money falling.
We now can't quit saying "Sweet ECB's" whenever something good happens.
Mamabird06 is coming in and out of price chopper. She goes into the store without her son who we call babybird, and comes out with him. Through the magic of film! The idea of throwing a globe in and out of each scene to represent the hotcouponworld logo was from Mamabird. The small boy playing with the globe is babybird.
One of the best scenes that was filmed got cut because of bad lighting. It was Mamabird06, Granny51539 and Bestbirths playing poker with coupons. Mamabird won and was all excited and I was crying and mad that she won all of the coupons.
My little girl is in the dumpster diving for coupons and gets caught by a real policeman!!!! In the video you can't really see the look on her face when the policemans show up, but it was priceless. He asks her "What are you doing?" She stops being all excited and meekly say's "dumpster diving?"
In the high quality version her facial expression with the policeman shows up much better.
Two more of my daughters are dancing in the dancing scene.
My son throws the hot coupon world globe out after I let him go ahead of me in line with his one item because I have 49 items and coupons!!!!! There were six children at the shoot and Okaliedokalie used the opprotunity and song lyrics to teach the children couponing store manners. The full cart at Walgreens was found in front of the clearance section and is full of legs pantyhose on clearance for $.75 and there are $.55 Q's out there so you could get pantyhose for $.25 This was just last week so they are still probably there!
That was a real cop that happened to be on location where we were filming and we sweet talked him into coming over for two minutes. The dumpster diving scene was shot in one take.
It took 3 days to shoot the video.
Over ten locations were used.

| |  I thought ya'll video was great! The dumpster diving scene was priceless. When I was pregnant with my twins I was dumpster diving for coupons when a cop rolled up and asked me what I was doing. I told him I was looking for coupons from the newspapers and he actually helped me by holding the lid of the dumpster for me while I reached for some papers. |
