Saved some moolah!

Posted 12-12-2007 at 08:56:36 PM by BargainSeeker
So a co-worker just informed me that the kitchen on one of our floors has loads of cloth bags, the ones that the medical insurance companies give away when there is enrollment season. For us open season ended Dec. 10, and they did not want to take their bags back. Immediately I went to check them out and just came back to my desk with about ten of them. It just so happens that I was intending to buy the re-usable bags the grocery/supermarket stores sell. :ShoppingBag: So I saved myself some...

Offers people disregard

Posted 10-29-2007 at 10:12:29 PM by BargainSeeker
Last week my SO went to JC Penney's, came home, showed me his purchase, and then promptly threw the bag into the trash can, but the crumpled-up receipt did not make it. Of course, I picked it up, to thow in, but the sentence www.JCPSurvey.com was highlighted in yellow and caught my eye. I tell him, "Hey, it says here to visit them for a survey and receive a 15% off coupon!" He responded, "You do it. Why should I?." I said "Does Black Friday mean anything to you?"...

I have a friend who works for a cleaning company. This place is always throwing away stuff, perfectly good stuff, brand new, never used stuff. Talk about wasteful! The supervisor permits them to take anything they want, provided the stuff is in the garbage pick-up area. Anyhoo, I always tell her to bring me whatever she can carry, that she thinks I can use. Car problems

Posted 10-17-2007 at 02:40:41 PM by BargainSeeker
I am so bummed out! My car has been making funny noises and I finally took it to the mechanic yesteday, only to be told that the damage was going to be $800!!! Something about a rack and pinnion, struts, etc., etc. So Steven (the mechanic) is telling my SO, (because you know, since I'm a woman, I would not understand!) about the problems, and my SO starts telling me to think about getting a new car. But his voice starts to fade as I'm thinking about withdrawing the money from my emergency account,...

Triples shopping

Posted 10-01-2007 at 02:17:55 PM by BargainSeeker
I was a wee bit disappointed in that with triples going on at one of the grocery stores I visit, I did not have too many coupons to really benefit from it. I mean, I shop for things that I give away, like to my friends wtih small children, or products I don't use and stuff I donate. Didn't even get good buys for these things either. Since I have a good stockpile, I really just shop for fillers, so to speak, so I did ok. Can't always do great, right? Hoping that CVS does right by me, this holiday...
