My kitty is sick!

I have two cats, an eleven year old tuxedo female, and a 6 1/2 yr. all black male. The female has been sick of late, and the vet bills have been atronomical! I will say she has been feeling better and it does not bother me what I spend. I will not let her suffer just because the cure and/or treatment is expensive. I have seen quite a few pets abandoned at the veterinarian's because the owners refused to pay the bills. Having pets is a responsibility, and one that not everyone is prepared for. It saddens me to see all the forgotten pets that were left behind because the owner(s) moved and could not take them, or were Christmas gifts, and once the novelty/cuteness wears off, these pets are left out in the street, taken to the pound (where I got my female, she was pregnant!), abandoned, (found the male shivering inside a car, next to the motor, five weeks old, miracle he was not ripped apart!), and a host of other places. During the two weeks I was running back and forth to the vet, I would see a group of rescue volunteers, bringing animals, either brought to them or found abandoned, and how the workers at the clinic would respond to the care of, vaccination, spay/neuter, etc., then place the animals up for adoption. These would-be-pets are just waiting for a human to take them home!
