The case of the decreasing volume!

So as I sit at my desk, viewing the balances on my accounts decrease, (and increasing my monthly contributions to try and offset the difference, ha, what a joke!), what do you think really bugs me? Well let me tell you! It's going to Walgreens to buy Dawn (BOGO sale), I have coupons $1/2, and once home, noticing that the recently bought bottles have only 10.3fl. oz as opposed to the stockpiled bottles that contain 11 fl. oz! Gee, I wonder how many dishes can be washed with .7 fl oz? Anywho, although this has been the trend for quite some time now, I can't help but still be bothered. It seems that the more we consumers struggle to stretch a dollar, the faster the manufacturers shrink/decrease their products. No longer is there ying-yang, love and marriage, or being BFF with any particular product(s). Fellow couponers, it's now survival mode!

| | I KNOW! Have you seen the size of the bite sized Ritz peanut butter cracker box lately? It looks like a sample but the price is MORE than it once was. Frustrating. No more brand loyalty for me! |

| | I hadn't noticed. The same bottles of Dawn were 12 oz not too long ago. Have you seen this thread? http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums...packaging.html |

| | Thanks Larissa, I had not read that thread. It certainly makes for interesting reading. For some years now when I buy and add to my stockpile, and see the difference, it really irks me. Notwithstanding, despite the commercialism of it all, one strives to stay above and one step head. In additon, (and this I enjoy!), the hunt continues! |
