My Binder Method
Posted 06-05-2008 at 09:52:47 AM by BabyBlissProducts
I love using the binder method of sorting my coupons. I use to do the container method, with deviders, a container that was about the size of a shoe box, but after having my children knock it over a million times and having my coupons go every where when they did I decided it was time to go to the binder method, been doing the binder method about 2 years now. I love that it has a zip up all away around, stops thing from falling out, also has a zip up inside pocket to store my cash, pens, paperclips and odd bits. I would love it if they came out iwth 4-5inch binders though
.
Here are a few pictures of my binder.

| | I love my binder method also. Although I think I need to graduate from the 1 in. (I'm still kinda new) I keep an envie for CVS and one for Kroger pull the q's I know I will need and put them in the envie before shopping. But if I see a good deal while shopping I know I have the rest with me in the binder. I also keep a zipper pencil pouch inside the binder to hold my calc, pen and other random stuff. |

| | my binder methodI have a 3 inch binder and a 1 inch binder, i use the 1inch binder for misc stores, eg Resturaunts Rebates and forms CVS Enteretainment Misc coupons Hardware stores Target And the 4 inch i have in it Cold Products Butter & Margarine Baby/Kids Items Baking Goods Beverages Canned Goods Cereals Cleaning Supplies Condiments Dairy Deodorants Hygiene Products Feminine Hygiene Frozen foods Laundry needs Make-up Meats Oral Care Over the counter Medication Paper Pasta and Rice Pets Needs Produce Salad Dressings Snacks Soaps & Body Wash Plastics & Foils Health Foods Vitamins Hair Care Breads Meal Helpers Italian Food Dishwashing I have my 3 inch binder set up in the same order as my favorite grocery store.. Ralphs, it is set up as their store lay out, it makes it easy to find everything. My 3 inch binder cost me $18 and my 1 inch cost me $11 from office depot. Plus you got to buy the insert dividers and the baseball card holders for the coupons, but its worth the investment. |

| | RE the toolbox method, though i think its cool, the thing i like about the binder method is that it doesnt look out of place, if i walked into the store with a toolbox i might get a little insecure about my couponing. I like to get in and out and I like to look almost "normal" and even with my container i felt a little funny about it, but my binder i can zip up before i get to the register and noone even asks me whats in it, before people use to always say "wow look at all those coupons" i just like to get in and out with out too much conversation about my coupons lol, i dont know why i am just funny about everyone seeing all my coupons, and there is alot of them lol. Thankfully my binder hides them real nice and the folder doesnt look too out of place in my cart. |

| | dreams, you might as well just get the 3inch, lets face it, you will be up to the 3inch in no time and why spend the money having to go from a 2inch to a three inch, might as well get the 3 inch now :) |

| | I agree.....my problem is finding a purse or tote big enough for it. I usually have 1 of the kids with me so I like to have a snack or small toy for them with me. I can't see myself just walking holding the binder. I like to carry my envie of q's, then if I see a deal I whip out the binder. I have plenty of bb card holders to fill a 3 in. I must make the move!! Thanks for showing the pics and your method. |

| | when i cut my coupons I cut them using a metal ruler, its so much quicker than scissors. I normally buy any where from 4-10 newspapers, so i will stack the same pages from each on top of each other and then using a ruler i cut them all at once ,this takes practice to make sure your not cutting the coupon in half, but its so much quicker than doing each one at a time. I use a metal ruler it cuts them perfectly. I got it form the 99c store. :) |
