Randall's 7/14

Yesterday was my first attempt at the Savings Marathon. I did ok - the main thing for me right now is that I only got things I really needed - I'm out of extra space in my tiny pantry, and it's 100 degrees in my garage so I can't store much right now.
My 25 items for the $20 cat
3 Gum: 3.75 - BOGO = 2.50
BC frosting: 1.50 - .50 doubled = .50
2 cheez-its: 5.00 - 1.00 = 4.00
Hunts Ketchup: 2.00 - .20 tripled = 1.80
4 frosted mini-wheats: 10.00 - 4.00 = 6.00
Hansen's rootbeer: 2.50 - 1.00 = 1.50
3 sobe lifewater 4-packs: 9 - 3*2 = 3
2 cottonelle 12-packs: 13.00 - 2 - 2*1 = 9.00
3 chinets: 10.47 - 3*.75 = 8.22
Kraft deli deluxe slices: 4.49 - 1 = 3.49
2 clearance packs stew meat: 7.41 - 3.70 = 3.70
2 packs top sirloin steak: 11.87 - 2*3 = 5.87
total cost: 49.58
minus $20 cat = 29.58
minus Hunt's MIR ($2): 27.58
Other stuff:
lipton tea bags: .98 - .50 doubled = 0
6 weber marinades: 6.00 - 6*1.00 = 0
Propel: .88 - .50 doubled = 0
Sobe Lifewater: 1.00 - .50 doubled = 0
2 packs fiesta spices (qualifier for $3 off meat WTs): 1.48
5 Lysol wipes canisters on clearance: 5.00 - 5*1 = 0
Total value:~ 104.00 (guessing at value of the lysol wipes before clearance)
Total spent (after taxes): 51.79
minus rebates and cat: 29.79
total savings: 73.49, or 71%
Every single thing I bought, except the tiny packs of fiesta spices, were things we needed or use in daily life. I'm hoping to do the rally once or twice more, if I can find enough Qs for stuff I need. it's going to be tough splitting my time between Randall's and Target this month - I think HEB has lost my business for now (unless I'm scouting for coupons
!)

| | I'm confused. If you are using bogo on the gum, shouldn't you have an even number? |

| | I only had one BOGO coupon, and I miscounted my items so when I got to the checkout I discovered I only had 24 - that's why there's a third gum - I just grabbed it to get my 25 items for the $20 cat! |
