Love and Marriage from a three year old's eyes

Okay, this is too darn cute not to share, here is the converstion I had with my 3yo niece(Sissy) yesterday:

Siss: "Aunt Amanda, are you going to be Uncle Tom's wife?"

Me: "Yes"

Sissy: "Oh, what's 'wife'?"

Me: "Well, when two people get married the girl becaomes the man's wife and the man becomes her husband"

Sissy: "What's married?"

Me: "It's when a man and a woman really love each other and want to spend the rest of their entire lives together in the same house, and they go to the church and lot of people come and watch and they vow to love and take care of each other forever"

Sissy: "Oh...what's 'vow'?"

Me: "Well, you know what a promise is right?"

Sissy: "uh-huh!"

Me: "Well, a vow is kind of like another way to say promise, it's promises that two people make to each other"

Sissy: "Oh, when I get big I'm gunna marry bubby"

Me: "You can't marry bubby"

Sissy: "How come?"

Me: "because he's your brother and it's against the law to marry your brother"

Sissy: "What's law?"

Me: "Laws are like rules that every body has to follow"

Sissy: "Even grown ups?"

Me: "Espeacially grown ups"

Sissy: "What happens when a grown up gets in trouble and doesn't follow the rules?"

Me: "Sometimes they go to jail"

Sissy: "I know what jail is, like time out, but far away from you mom"

Me: " Sort of, I geuss"

Sissy: "Well, if I can't marry bubby I'll marry Uncle Tom"

Me: "What if I'm already married to him?"

Sissy: "It's ok, Aunt Amanda, I can share"

Me: "Can you?"

Sissy: "Yup, I want to marry bubby cuz he knows how to take care a me"

Me: "Yeah, why do want to marry Uncle Tom, then?"

Sissy: "He knows how to take care a me too, plus he gots mony and can buy me toys, bubby doesn't gots money"

Me: "Oh, Uncle Tom is going to buy you toys when you get maried?"

Sissy: "Yeah, a princess Barbie with a poople dwess...if your good you can have one too!"
