Coupons that you thought you wouldn't need but turned out to need afterall?

Posted 04-03-2009 at 02:39:04 PM by anothershopper2

This is my first blog entry. I couldn't find a spot for it on the forums so I guess this is appropriate. Last month, my coupons were stolen from me (yes, along with a few other things) so I spent a lot of time replenishing my coupon stash. It's strange coupon karma in many ways. I had the bad end of the stick but then I found some non-inserts that I've never found before at any of my stores and some insert multiples that I never could get before either. So I guess it all kinda evened out. Now, it's back to normal... no non-inserts really, no multiples but still have my coupons.

Anyhow back to what I really wanted to post about, which is the coupons I was thinking that I would be trading and then ending up glad that I didn't trade them.

1) Free Eggs wyb 2 Kelloggs cereals - We are a GM loyal cereals family. We love Cheerios - any variety, Kix, Total, Chex, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, you name it, we love it. So I'm always buying GM cereals, and I hardly ever buy Kelloggs. Then came along the buy Kelloggs cereals and get free milk. So I figured I'd get in on the deal - bought 5 boxes and got 2 free milks. I didn't really have any coupons, just 2 $0.70/1s and 1 B1G1. We can't stack at my stores so whether it's a wyb or B1G1... where people use one $x/1 for the one they are paying for, and a B1G1 cpn, I can't do that. So it wasn't a super hot deal but that's beside the point. Basically, bring home the cereals, DH remembered that he likes Kelloggs and would have no problems eating them. So now he wants me to buy more Apple Jacks and Smart Starts. I was gonna trade them, but then ended up not trading them all (cause no one wanted them at the time). And now I'm glad.

2) Huggies B&B Q - well, I'm super busy, and with a new baby and slow healing, I could never use the Huggies B&B q. I had no close Walmarts or any other store that had it for cheap. I finally got around to figuring out last round that my Kmart doubled! Shock - even DH helped me since he works so close to one. I was able to get some wash clothes and wipes for cheap (not free since prices here are higher than other areas) but definitely cheaper than if I bought it elsewhere (which I have for higher prices). I traded for a heck of lot more of the $0.50/1 tubs thinking that would be more valuable to me, but now I have over 15 of the $0.50/1 huggies wipes tubs q's left (they expire on Sunday) and none of the $1/1 huggies B&B - which I could have used more of. Strange how it happens that way.

I'm glad I kept my $2/1 Dreft and my A&D q's. I need to buy it now for my eczema and sensitive skined baby.

Rambly first blog entry - but it'll be better next time.
