Have you ever carefully planned out an awesome couponing trip, only to have it shot to pieces? And by a chicken, no less.

I was on a mild coupon high today after a lunch break run through Dollar General for diapers. I finally got back my $10 in gift cards from a rebate I did a few months ago, and so I got 3 $6 packs of Luvs. After three $3 coupons and the gift cards, I paid .26. Very nicely done, and since I’m no fan of Luvs a quarter is about all I’d be willing to pay for them....

My in-laws have never laid eyes on my son. He is their first grandchild, and my mother-in-law cries when she sees babies in the park because she wants to see Jared so badly.

The problem? The cost for one plane ticket is equal to 4 months salary for my father-in-law. ...

I am a complusive list maker. Like my mother, her mother, and her mother before her, I have lists of my lists.

My great-grandmother wrote them on the paper that came in packages of pantyhose or "nylons", as she called them. She was a thrifty one.

My grandmother wrote them on paper bags that she had cut up. Thrifty as well.

My mother takes a piece of Xerox paper, folds it in half, and turns it sideways so that she can have four lists going at...

Well...the baby brought our weekend to a screeching halt. We just got home from a 24 hour stay in the hospital.

He's had stomach flu since Wednesday, and the dr assured us on Thursday that everything would be fine within 24 hours. By Saturday morning, he was still unable to keep anything down and was still passing liquid stools. We went to the dr again, who said he was dehydrated and sent us directly (do not pass go, do not collect a change of clothes) to the hospital.

DH has the day off, and I stayed home with the baby who is still not over his stomach virus (Diarrhea + five month old = STRESS!) Since we wanted to leave our weekend free and relaxed, we decided to risk "getting the deals done" with a somewhat cranky and highly explosive (if you know what I mean) infant. We are home on a temporary hiatus because both DS and DH needed a nap after only 3 stores (WIMPS!). Here's our results:
