Big Y joins breast cancer promotion

To raise awareness and funds for breast cancer, all Big Y Supermarkets will donate a portion of their proceeds from their produce department as well as additional select products throughout the stores to the local Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Massachusetts and Connecticut affiliates.
In addition to partnering with many manufacturers to procure hundreds of thousands of pink-labeled products with funding toward breast cancer research and awareness, Big Y will sell pink T-shirts, pink frosted cupcakes, pink travel mugs and water bottles, pink bouquets and more.
Pink paper ribbons will be available for a $1 donation and will be posted in each market. In addition, all signs in produce sections will be pink, all bags for products in the deli will be pink and the bags at the registers will also be pink.
