Counterfeit Catalinas being produced in Cleveland, TN

Just wanted to give you Cleveland girls a "heads-up". I was in the Bi-Lo on Ocoee Crossing today. Unfortunately, someone has been passing counterfeit catalinas in their store. As a result, our internet coupons have to be approved by management before the clerks can scan them now. I have Detective AnnitaJ to thank for the information. I was in there on my lunch hour and the clerk told me they had been receiving counterfeits and would need to get my coupons approved. Because a manager never came to the register, she went on and scanned all my printables. AnnitaJ sleuthed around this afternoon and found out the information about the catalinas. Apparently someone is scanning them , then printing them. It only takes one bad apple to make life difficult for all of us. It is unfortunate that someone would abuse this situation. The deals at Bi-Lo are wonderful as they are. I don't understand why someone would deliberately abuse the system in this way.

Just wanted to back up Neciepie. I have developed a wonderful relationship with many of the day managers and co-managers, so they know I am honest, and are willing to share information. As Neciepie said, it is unfortunate that someone has to lie and cheat! If you work the deals correctly, the bargins are there! Saddly, there are always a few who want something for nothing! Ya know...I'm all about saving bucks where ever you can, but doesn't this person realize that this could cost them more in the long haul?

I don't know what's happening here in Cleveland. I was entering the CVS on Paul Huff Pkwy last week as two women were exiting. They had tons of bags & I could see the green Garnier shampoo bottles through the plastic bags. When I got inside, the cashier & asst. mgr were discussing how both women had each used 4-5 cards each & gotten a ton of the freebies.

Just wanted to post that I stopped by this Bi-Lo on the way home from work tonight. In the lobby area, the 24 pack Coke products were marked $4.99 after $1 coupon. There were signs on the display that read 'Due to coupon theft, the cashier will provide the coupon for the Coke products'. I bought a pack & the cashier called the asst. mgr over to provide the $1 coupon. The saga continues...

Oh, puh-leez!!! Okay now, who took all the peelies off the cases of coke? I'm sure that must be a federal offense

. Did the store remove all the peelies off the Nabisco cookies, too? For shame if we get one more than we get product for. Unfortunately all this is happening at the same time and it's not good. It wouldn't surprise me if they start prohibiting coupon transactions at self checkout.

This is just crazy! Who out there hasn't grabbed extra peelies, stickies, and any other available Q's? I wonder what the clipping services would do? I know I have bought plenty that are on those sites, and when they arrive, they're all the above!

In Bi-Lo's defense, I will share this: Caryn, day manager, told me last week, she had ordered Q's for a big coke sale, and to get the deal, you had to use the Q. My guess is that in this instance, they had advertised specifically a sale with coupon, and didn't want angry customers, at checkout, honoring a sale price with no Q to redeem for the store. I see their point too. Maybe, after the sale is over, we will get an opportunity to get some of those coke Q's!

I couldn't agree more, girls. This Bi-Lo has always been so coupon friendly...I hope that doesn't change.

I stopped by today to do the cereal deal & accidently picked up 3 of the smaller Fruit Loops, so only a $3 coupon printed. I went to the service desk & ask them if I could return & re-ring w/the correct sizes. The girl was supernice & even told me to keep the $3 coupon even after my $10 printed.
