If your store is doing it, it is worth going.
They ask each person a trivia question, and the crowd and the question asker, give you as many hints as needed for you, to be right.
Then you spin a wheel.
12 prizes on the wheel.
2 large T-shirt (2 segments of the pie shaped wheel)
the a free bag of Southern Home products
then 2 more T-shirts
then a free tank of gas
then 2 more T-shirts
then $250 in Bi-Lo food - gift card
then 2 more T-shirts to fill out the 12 segments of the pizza pie wheel.
So, 4 in 12 chances to win more than the T-shirt.
A radio station had a tent set up and they had a spin wheel too. Everyone was a winner, small bag of candy, T-shirt, frisbie, or music CD.
Bi-Lo gave free sodas, chips, hot dogs, bottles of water to everyone.
Frisbie, coloring book and balloon for kids.
I happened to win a free tank of gas.
They will put $4.00 in fuel perks on my card this week and I'll have 90 days to use it. They said, I'd only pay the "gas tax." That could be no telling how much in my state, the gas tax, so my car on empty will hold about 15 gallons so roughy a $50 prize. The gas around here is about $3.40.
They did have the trivia questions listed. If you want to hear a few of them so you can answer, without the crowd's help, let me know.
I stink on trivia. When the question is heard, I go totally blank.
My question was what shoe company had a logo that says "swoosh."
Of course I went blank. Then the crowd helped me get to Nike.
I turned the wheel to the $250 gift card and said, "starting there and ending there," and spun the wheel.
Go Bi-Lo.
They also gave out a coupon, or small flyer, to get a 6 bottle pack of Coke for 99 cents.

omg! I laready LOVE this site...so much helpful info...can i ask you, do they do this at a certain time on the dates listed or will they just be set up in the parking lot all day? The West Columbia, SC bi lo isn't far but I work until 3 pm ...Thanks in advance
Ours started at 12 noon, (the trivia contest for the prizes)
The people in line to spin the wheel was 15 deep when I arrived at 11:45.
It was supposed to end at 2pm.
By chance or by design a radio station has set up a tent with a prize wheel.
Bi-Lo, the store, was giving free drinks, hot dogs, chips, balloons, other kids stuff. I assume, it was while the supply lasted.
they all seem to be between 12 and 2. It would have been nice to post the hours on the site too.

Went to the one in Gastonia today. Managed to spin and got a bag full of Bilo brand products so I was happy enough given your odds were 50% getting a tshirt.
Prior to going I was going to go to the one in Matthews but now I'm not. Just a long line of people. You wait for your turn to spin the wheel. I got there a bit early so my wait wasn't too bad. Many walk away with tshirts and some with more.
They did have hotdogs for cheap. Well $1 isn't cheap for a hotdog but it was for charity so I could live with that.
That was about it. A block away so no biggie for me but if you have to travel any distance the wheel has 16 spots I believe. 8 of them are tshirts. Short of the free tank of gas or the $250 gift card which only a select number will win you really have to weigh your odds in whether it's worth it for you.
I then went into the store hoping they may have some special sales and really wanted shrimp. There were some corporate guys walking around and they asked if I was enjoying my free bag of goodies and what I really wanted to ask them was why are their shrimp which are b1g1 free still more expensive then Harris Teeter's even when they're not on sale. No shrimp for me and short of that little carton of coke with the 6 or 8 little bottles of coke for .99 no special sales. I doubt those cokes were even .99 back in 1961.
