QUESTION did anyone encounter problems with the Red Baron deal?

I go to my store today for one of the Red Baron deals, just buy a pan pizza for $6.99 and get some items free. One free item was the Southern Home garlic bread. They were out of the variety that came with the deal. Somehow the CS rep. or manager who came over, and used a RC to solve that problem, so that I could go ahead and get the variety I had picked out of the freezer. There were at least two varieties in the freezer that mentioned the deal.

Then there was the issue of the deal itself. I took the ad with me. When I get to the register, all my items have were rung up.
At that point, "after" my items are rung up, I'm told, "sorry, the deal is you must buy TWO Red Baron". (??)
They said the ad was a mistake. If you look on the add, it says (1) and then it says $6.99. If the (1) is a mistake, then the $6.99 has to be a mistake too, and should be $13.98.

They gave me the deal for $6.99, but said the stores were getting replacement signs so future customers would know the ad is wrong.
I have seen printing errors, but not one quite at this level, front page, both the quantity and price are wrong.

It appears they are not going to honor the error. I asked if the required purchase was (1) or (2) Red Baron going forward and they said two.

So, many thousand ads in people's hands, and in stores, and the deal is going to cost people twice the quoted $6.99.
It may end up being a dead deal, if too many people expect it to be $6.99, and then are told, that no, it is twice that.

I thought it was a good enough deal for me to take advantage of it. I really never thought it was a SUPER deal (meaning I wondered why the price was so low). Once I was told the requirement was 2 Red Baron, I decided I won't go back for another such deal. If they are going to honor the ad in their circular, I might go get one more.

They implied that new signs were on the way, and they said the signs on the shelves did say (2). I did not look close, because I had the ad in my hand, so I'd be sure to get the proper freebies.

Is the buy (1) deal dead and the buy (2) Red Baron is the way it is?

I didn't do this, however I have the ad and mine is the same...I have to say I would be VERY angry if I got ALL THE WAY TO BILO and found out the ad was wrong. I agree with you Howard, to have it wrong twice is a bit suspect. I would probably accuse them of bait and switch and leave the store.

Someone did post on facebook that the actual deal is you have to buy two. So BIG OLE misprint. I guess its to much of a loss to honor the ad to every single person that brings the ad with them. What a big lovely mess!

    They could honor the ad.
    It would be expensive though.

my store gave me the deal.
And it did not take any huffing and puffing. I just said that I hated to hold up the line, but I would like to return the items, as I was not aware of the error and I apologized for not seeing the (2) on the small shelf tag. At least CS said the tag on the shelves said (2) and corporate was sending some larger signs to let customers know the details before getting in the checkout line.

I guess I am spoiled on frees and low cost deals.
Even with the buy only one Red Baron, I had to think twice or 3 times, before deciding to do it.

$13.98 is a lot of money for the total amount of stuff, at least to me, a couponer... I paid $.99 each for 3 Red Baron PAN Pizzas last week.

I guess it would be appealing to someone that has no coupons and doesn't believe in shopping the sales.

I must have been asleep and missed that, if it was HT.
$2 Palermo won't be bad at Bloom.
I think the Bloom deal will actually cost less per pizza than HT's B2G3 free on Palermo's, a sale which they have quite often.

    At HT, and $7.99, two would be $15 less 2 $1/1 doubled = $11 for 5.
Bloom would be $10 for 5.
Some of the HT B2G3 get be deceiving if you look close.
Like Bi-Lo has 12 pack cokes, all day long, every day, for $3.99. Where does HT get their $6.29?

The red baron deal at Bi-lo would be cheaper with the 2 $1.00 cpns off the pizzas or pasta. That would make the deal $11.98 and along with all 4 freebies. That price would be $1.98 per product and you end up getting 6 products for the $11.98. Not a bad deal. I went and got mine the other day!

I was going to do this deal for Dinner Saturday night--we had spent all day selling Girl Scout Cookies--but they had signs up that the Ad was an error.

I was kinda glad--all they had left was Cheese Pizza.

I agree that they should have honored the Ad.

I'm not a fan of the new shelf tags at Bi-Lo. I feel like I'm having to retrain myself.

Food Lion is getting more of my business these days.
