Carved Fruit & Veggies

Has anyone tried this? Is it easy? I have been wanting to try but it looks so difficult.

I can make a swan out of an apple, a rose out of a radish, a whale out of a zuchini, and baskets out of mellons.

I learned it in a class I took in high school. The class was restraunt management and was held at the hospital. It was fun. I can not say I use these skills very often...but I know how to do them. LOL

There are degrees. I can do these, but I daresay I don't do them well.

Time and patience are the key. A lot depends on the purpose. I think the carved Watermelon fruit baskets are a nice way to do something special, yet they are not hard to do at all.
