Re: Iced Tea recipe? Polly G -- my pitchers are 2 qt size. Here's how I make Southern sweet tea: Boil 4 C of water in the microwave, or on the stove top. Remove from micro or stove, and then put in 2 family-sized tea bags, or the equivalent of the small ones if that's all you have. Let steep for about 1/2 hour. Remove the tea bags, then put in 1 C of sugar. The water is still warm enough to dissolve the sugar, but cooled enough to not be bitter. Let cool on the stove top for another hour or so. Then pour into your pitcher, adding another 4 C of water. Put in fridge -- it's the best the next day, with no bitter taste at all. |
