Just wondering what "padding a bid with coupons" does??? Why does that not count to increase bid??? Confused....

Padding is in addition to your bid. It can help entice the seller to pick your bid over someone else's. As long as all bids are valid as they are bid, then the seller has the option to pick a lower bid, and just may do so if they were enticed by what the bidder had padded with.
