I too got some yarn at Walmart on clearance this past weekend!! They had homespun as well which is usually 5-6 dollars per skein of 6 oz and I got some colors (painted desert, colonial, meadow, nouveau) for 2 each. So I bought 10 all together to make a blanket!! It cost 20 plus tax and I was happy!! Love this yarn and it is usually too expensive for me to buy. As noted above there was also red heart for 2 bucks and cotton sugar for 1 buck. I went back yesterday and it was nearly all gone....

Just got back from Wally World. My sales weren't this good. Sugar and Cream was $1. but my homespun was only marked down to $4. Which, $4 happens to be my "good" buy price on them. So I did get enough to make *yet another* blanket. I'll check back in a week or so and see if it's gotten any better. I'm also having my mom check her Walmart to see if hers is having the really good sale that Dominicsmommy's store is having.

Homespun is probably my favorite yarn to work with. And Simply Soft is my second favorite.

The colors that were 2 bucks at my store also included besides the mentioned above, mimosa, seafoam, baroque, prairie, barrington, quartz, candy apple, herb garden, mixed berries, cherry blossom. I think that is all of them...LOL They were mostly in the clearance aisle but I did find the painted desert and cherry blossom in the regular yarn aisle with the 2.00 price tag!!
I had actually never worked with the homespun before because it is so expensive but now I do believe I am spoiled but how soft this yarn is and may want to only work with this....LOL Uh oh pocket book!!

    Good luck:)

Check out Smiley's Yarns . I've never ordered from them because of the $50.00 minimum but they do have good prices and awesome clearance.

Penny, I've noticed them before and wanted to order from them but haven't for the same reason. I wonder if there's something that some of us can work out. Like several of us getting together to order the yarn and then sending it out to the other people who ordered...was that English?

I didn't realize how much of a yarn stash I had until we moved a few months ago. My oh my I have to start using it up. Anyway, I have ordered from Herrschners before. Their yarn sales are pretty good compared to regular prices at Michaels etc. Maybe try Ebay as well, or local thrift stores. I have considered Smileys...oh how I'd love to go to NYC for their annual sale.
