    HELP Reusing Magazines

    Hey Everyone!
I'm new here, so I hope I didn't put this in the wrong place.

I have TONS of magazines in my house, and I can never just throw them out! :bookclub2: I decided to use them to make things, and it's so fun!

I started years ago just cutting out words and colors and covering a boring white wooden chair with them. It's the coolest, most unique chair now and I get tons of compliments on it.

Also, I make paper beads (yup, like when you were a little kid!) and I hung them like a curtain in my closet to cover the shelves and make it look pretty.

My newest project is one I found in a craft book I got for Christmas.
It's called "The Big-Ass Book of Crafts" by Mark Montano.
I'm making a little trash can from the magazines! It's coming along so well.
    And it looks really cool.

So, now I'm fresh out of things to do with my magazines! Any ideas anyone? Give me whatever you've got!

    Thanks in advance!
I shop at Hannaford, Rite Aid and ShopRite.

I would love to see some pics of your creations. They sound really interesting. You could always cut articles with tips or special recipes, decorating ideas and keep them in a binder for reference. I guess it depends on the type of magazine and thickness.

those are great ideas. I would love to know how to make the trash can. Is it like paper mache?

I usually take them to work and set them on the counter and usually someone will take the ones they want, or I take them to the dr office and leave them in the waiting room for patients to read. (I scratch over my name/addy real well with a ball pt then go over with a black marker bc I am reluctant to leave that on there, or just tear it off if in a hurry)

I don't have any of my own pictures to share right now, but I do have the link to a site of someone who DID take a pic of their trash can. Mine's gonna be a bit bigger.

    Funstuff Re: Reusing Magazines

It's really tedious...and I did my own thing, not exactly what the book said, it's not the best with descriptions. But it's a really awesome project, let me know if youve got any questions!

How neat! Do you have pics of any of your other creations, like the chair or the bead curtain?

Check out my avatar-- my sweet tortie Annie is not fond of cameras, so this is an online look-a-like! Ain't she a cutie?

    I don't remember where I saw this:
Use a paper shredder that shreds into 1/4" wide strips.
    Shred pretty magazine papers.
Use the 1/4" wide strips to make a pinstripe on the wall as wall covering.

Now that I write that it seems pretty stupid. I'll search on the web to see if I can find it.
