Hey guys!! :wavehi:
I need to clarify a few things about the HEB coupons located in the stores; because we are having a lot of problems with people using them in a fraudulent manner ...my guess would be they don't even know they are doing anything wrong.

For those who don't know... HEB has coupons hanging around the store that are yellow (Most of the time). Even though they are only located in the stores and pretty much look like something we could all make ourselves, most of the time they are manufacture coupons not store coupons, (Occasionally they are store coupons, but that seems to be a rare accordance these days).

On the bottom left of the coupon it actually has a big "M" on it and has manufacture abbreviated right under the "M". Next time I am in the store I will pick one up and post and example of the bottom part of the coupons, just so we have a clarified reference.

If they have the "M" at the bottom of the coupon they can NOT be combined with another manufactures coupon on the same item. That doubles dipping, and coupon fraud.

(THIS CAME FROM HEB.COM:)

Regarding the acceptance of manufacture and store coupons at the same time, we can take two coupons on one product, but only if one of the coupons is a “store coupon” designated by an S on the lower corner. Store Coupons can be scanned during the order, allowing for a Manufacturer’s Coupon to be scanned at the end of the order. If a coupon states redemption is restricted to one coupon per purchase, then we cannot accept an additional coupon on the item. Most in-ad coupons are manufacture coupons, designated by an M on the lower corner, and we would not be able to accept two coupons. Additionally, we can not accept multiple coupons that will result in a negative charge to the Customer. If there are no restrictions on either coupon, you can use two coupons on one item.

The Senerio will be the same for Catalinas

Clarification, please: suppose the HEB-provided manufacturer coupon is "Buy X Get $1 off Y," Are you saying that it is improper to use any other coupons on that set of items (X and Y) OR only that it is improper to use another coupon on product Y?

They are manufacture coupons so they work like any other manufacture coupons. BUT! You have to read what your manufacture coupon AND the HEB manufacture coupon says. If the coupon you are planning to use along with X says that it can not be combined with any other coupons or offers or the HEB coupons says that, then no you can't use another coupon with X, but if it doesn't have that wording then you would just use them the same way you use any other manufacture coupons.

I will pick up some more today, but as far as I know all HEB Coupons say that. So in this instance the answer to your question would be no you can not use another coupon. I will see if I can find some of the Buy X get $1 off Y. We can see what the wording is on that. I like to walk to the store.... gets my two mile walk in for the day ( how bad is that???) but rain is about to hit so I will play it by ear. :wavehi:

Hey guys! My DH and I went to HEB tonight and checked out all the store coupons we could find. They all said they could not be combined with any other offer. So that is the final ruling on that. If someone finds an exception please let me know. I am not saying we won't find exceptions because you never know!

HI,

thanks for the cat.. pic.. i don't think i have ever read a cat...LOL>..

Just wanted to say that you are correct... having worked at HEB we spent a whole night going over coupons and you are correct on every account...

Thanks for making things so clear and haveing the patience for all of those who did not get the info first hand...LOL>..

And vj, should also know she works there too....LOL...

I for one am just thanksful that HEB never complains about my MANY q's ( no limit there like walmart) and i would never try to combine q's...

we were taught that it was only ONE coupon per item... i think the way they look at it is.. this:

When the store has a coupon for buy x get y free.. they figure that they have already gave you a good discount....

I was looking thru some of my man q's and they don't say " cannot be used with other discounts or offers... so i know some people get to "piggy back".. but if even one coupon says the above.. we are out of luck... and i do know most of HEB's q's say that...

thnaks Nicole for all your hard work....

Yes, thanks for this clarification. I once emailed a gal on another coupon forum becuase she posts combining at HEB all the time and I asked her how she happens to do that and get away with it because my HEB does not allow that at all. I was just asking one of our checkers here in my hometown about that and he said that in some areas it may be that it might be allowed if there is a lot of competition from other stores in the area. I don't know if that is the case or not but I know in my small town it is not allowed at all. We don't have much to choose from here, HEB and Walmart is about it for large food stores so you get to pick and choose your battles as far as who you will buy from and use your Q's at. I seem to do most of my purchases at HEB. Thanks for your post.

Ironically even the type B coupons which according to the official policy can be combined with Manufacturer coupons have that wording. So frustrating!
