I emailed Bi-Lo about the triples program and why SC wasn't tripling when NC, Georgia, and Tenn was. Here's the reply.
Thanks for your interest and support of BI-LO. We are testing triple coupons in some markets. I do not know whether we will continue to do that or to expand that program. But if we do you see it in our ads so be on the lookout for it.
Thanks
Don

Heads up...... it has not been in the sales ads in this area but in the Wednesday paper. I assume that really doesn't matter because you will see it on here.

They probably wont even do it in SC but fingers are crossed.

Get plenty of rest prior to the triples. I swear, I should have lost about 5 pounds with all the running in and out I've done in our local Bi-Lo. This has been an incredible run and I really hope that you guys get the opportunity to participate, too.

I think the REAL reason that they are tripling is because we just had Publix come into this area and the first store opened about 3 weeks before Christmas. The next two are slated to open up later this year and the beginning of next......I know that they have tripled before, but it has been two years since they did and how coincidental that they did it just after Publix opened. If not, like you said, why are not they doing it in a larger area??

But if it's because of Publix, why are they doing it in Blairsville, GA? No Publix anywhere near us! Hey, but I'm not complaining!!!

It's possible that some area are running programs becuase of competition moving into the area.
As the email says some markets are getting triple couples as a test.
Both may be correct even if there's a different reason why.

They have THE BEST coupon policy! No minimum purchase, no limit to the number of cpns you use, except they double/triple up to 10 like cpns.

So do you need special triple coupons to get a coupon tripled? Or do they automatically just do it?

Since I've never been to a Bi-Lo during triples, I'm going to assume that they double automatically then they have to manually enter the triple.

No, you don't need any special triple cpns---they automatically triple. The registers are programmed to automatically triple up to the amount of the cost of the product. If you have alot of cpns, the register will quit scanning (this happened to me the past two weeks)...and you'll have to settle up with whatever the balance is. then they take the rest of the cpns up to customer service where someone will add them up & triple them, and they'll reimburse you for your cpns. The great thing about that is that you get OVERAGE :)

Thanks to both of you and repped!! I've only been in the store once. It's killing me not knowing every policy on all my new stores.

Oh and you need to use your bonus card to get either their sale prices, doubles or triples.

Do you live somewhere around the Chattanooga area (TN & part of GA)? I don't think the other areas are tripling, according the reports. Although they seem to triple more often in NC than they have in this area. In fact, we have NEVER had triples in Blairsville, GA (as far as I know), up until the past 3 weeks.

Doubleing to .99 is great even if they dont' triple. My Bi-Lo only doubles to .65.

The manager Kyle, at the Soddy Daisy store told me that he doesn't think that it's as much as the competition with the new stores coming in as much as he thinks that it's because January is one of their slowest time of the shopping year. He said that he's been working for Bilo stores(use to be Red Food) for 25 years. Too, that's just one managers opinion though. The manager Crate, at the Ooltawah store told me that he did think that it was because of the competition though. Who knows....but whatever the reason, it's great on our part!!!

Man, I'm so disappointed that they aren't tripling in SC!!!!! Y'all are so lucky!
The only place around here that triples is Harris teeter and that's only once every few months.
