I am curious is anyone is interested/still participating in the 5 At a Time Weight Loss Challenge that niftyneon99 had started a while back. If anyone is please post here so we can get this going again:wavehi:

Any suggestions on any format changes would also be great :)

Sign me up. I just started a "Beans and Greens" diet for a lifetime. I'm also experimenting with a Vegan diet! This will be interesting!!!!!

Give me some feedback on how you would like this to work.

I was thinking of some ideas, so let me know Yay or Nay lol.

-"Weigh ins" every monday
-I will find some weight loss/dieting/health tips and post them each week
-Maybe have some sort of exercise we can all try each week

Any other ideas?

The more interesting the better - at least that's how I feel about diet/exercise.

We could also suggest recipes we have tired that are low cal or low carb! For me the hardest thing is finding things that I can eat that are low cal or low carb, that are filling or that work for me...

I would love to do weekly weigh ins. I am all about sharing ideas. I'm not sure on the exercises though, I'm really bad about exercising at home. I was going to the Y 4 or 5 times a week but since Christmas that has just fizzled out. Need to get back into it!

I did sign on here awhile back but couldn't figure out where to post and how often??? I

have been doing Weight Watchers Core program. I've lost 3.5 pounds! I have two more to get to goal.

Couponing really made me gain weight b/c I used to use low fat, low cal stuff then I started just using whatever the coupon was for. Now I need to see that there is a balance that I have to abide by.:wavehi:

Absolutely, some type of contests along the way would be great, and % is definitely the most fair. I have a spreadsheet that I will be keeping track of everyone that posts.

All the ideas sound great to me..! I'm also following WW. Maybe we can set a weekly "mini" goal..whether it be pounds to lose, exercise to add. Or something simple like drinking 8 glasses of water everyday for the week. Let me know what you think..!

Just a reminder to everyone:
There are a lot of you who have not posted your weighins. I'm not going to come through the computer and kick your butts lol, but we really need, at the very least your initial weigh-ins (2/4/08) for if we do any sort of RAOKs for weight loss, etc. So please remember to post :)

Basically each monday I will create a new thread for weighins. I have created a spread sheet to keep track of everyone's progress. And hopefully along the way we can do a few RAOK's etc as motivation.

Please do me a favor and post your current weight in this thread:

Wow, just noticed this thread. I would love to join in. i started "dieting" 4 weeks ago, but then got the flu and ate anything that was fast and easy:-(

I am basically following a low-cal, low fat diet (AHA recommended) and trying to get motivated to do the treadmill at least 3X's a week for 5 mins and plan to try and increase by 2 mins until i can comfortably do 1hr every day. I know, it is a snail's pace to begin with, but i really want to stay committed this time, and i figure the best way is not to kill myself right at the beginning! Anyway, i would also love to maybe "buddy up" with someone if anyone is interested?

Oh count me in also. I have gained 30 pounds since last year. Im only 5'4 and currently weigh 157 and my goal weight is 145 by June. Although I would love to be 130 again.

I am 5'2 weighed 160 (i started a low cal diet on 3/25/08) so now I am still 5'2 but weigh 157!! my goal is to be 5'6 but thats never going to happen so I guess I will just have to loose the weight right? in that case my goal is 120, but I would be totally happy with 125-130 I am not picky! We also started bike riding so I will track that somewhere here too, well let me know if its okay that I join! thanks!

Hi Folks!!!

I was trying to lose weight for my cruise and I'M BAAAAAAACK!!! We got home last night. I came real close to my goal and felt very confident and comfortable on the cruise. I ate like a pig but walked and exercised so much that I'm sure I didn't gain an ounce (halleluia!)

I think I will discontinue my "membership" on the WL thread. Thanks for the encouragement!

I would really like to join you guys! I calculated my BMI and apparently I am ALMOST obese. I am 5'8" and weigh 195 :frown: I keep saying its b/c I just had a baby, but that was almost 6 months ago. I have been walking on the treadmill and taking my kids for walks (one or the other or both every day). I could definitely use some support and tips for what is working for you guys! Thanks!

(I have been telling myself that I need to lose weight while I watched the Biggest Loser on the couch eating potato chips and drinking sodas LOL)
