HCW Halloween Costume Contest! Updated for Winners!!! See inside!!!

If you got the newsletter early in the month, we said we'd be having a HCW costume contest this year.

Here's the rules....

You need to have pictures posted or pm'd, or emailed to me by November 1st at 10pm PAC time.

The categories you can enter in....

$10 GC for a HCW member
$10 GC for a HCW member's kid
$5 GC for a HCW member's pet

The more original the better!

For safety reasons.....

The internet is a funny place and there are weidos out there. If you are not comfortable posting pics of your kids (some of you have them posted everywhere and some of you keep them a bit more secure), we want to honor that level of security some of you might want, so please feel free to email them to me instead at hotcouponmama @ hotcouponworld dot com - no spaces and .com done out the regular way.

Heidi and I will pick a winner from each category and post sometime on Nov. 2nd. You can post your entries in this thread.

Well I'll start this off with a doggy costume. This is Tucker in his lil' devil costume. He loves wearing it- he's neutered so I think having a set of horns makes him feel more manly. :hysterical:

Awww...Well if it makes you feel better we can call him "Tux" here. That's his nickname and usually what we call him.

We think he was named Tucker because the shelter owner of the place we got him was Australian and Tucker is slang for food in Australia. The dog loves to eat like it's nobody's business.

A refresher course on how to post your pictures.

How to upload an attachment:

In your post reply box you will see a paperclip icon http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/images/editor/attach.gif<< Click it.
A window will pop up for you to upload your picture from your computer.
Find the picture you wish to upload and upload it.
Close the window once it has uploaded.
At this point you can just go and post and your attachment will be a link.
To make your picture show as a picture in you post...go back and click on the down arrow next to the http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/images/editor/attach.gificon. This will pull a dropdown box with your attachment/s click on the attachment and it will insert something in your post that looks like [ATTACH] some numbers [ATTACH]. then click preview post to make sure everything looks OK and if it does hit submit.To upload your picture from another website like photobucket.

Upload your picture to your image hosting site.
Copy the URL for your image
Go to your post over here and click the http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/images/editor/insertimage.gificon.
A pop up window will appear.
Make sure to delete the http:// that is already filled in the box.
Paste the URL of your picture into the box and click "ok"HTH

I may post a pic of the crew (10+ kids and 8+ adults) as no one other than me (in my family) seems to mind being plastered online (yep, one of those overprotective types)..... Thanks for the option of e-mail for the contest! I have a huge family and since HALLOWEEN!!!!! is my favorite holiday, we all congregate here and have a blast! (I also have an enormous and halloween friendly neighborhood)

Again, thanks for the option! I love seeing the pics of everyone else and great ideas for the coming years.

I just started to sew and kept adding little things here and there!
Little fish, turtle and an octopus! My 7 year old is a Mermaid but wouldn't get in the photo! And my hubby is a Lobster! :hysterical: Thank goodness I get to hold the camera and diaper bag!

DS eats, sleeps, breathes trains. He was Thomas last year, and we couldn't convince him to be an engineer this year - he wanted to be an actual train. DH devised this from the styro that packs around a new computer so that he could take it off easily at school, etc. Only problem was - he couldn't hear with the headphones on!

Wow, great costumes everyone! I have some winners, and it was tough. There were several entries sent to me via email, and those were great too.

For best pet.....Tucker the dog (even though it pains me to say Tucker and dog in the same sentence, the dog was cute!!!)

For best member.....mworkman as Jane Austin! Very cool period costume.

For best member's kid costume...gotta go with Ksteven's daughter as Marilyn Monroe - very convincing. Although I have to give a shout out to SBP's railroad costomes - those were pretty dang cool!

Thanks! I worked several weeks sewing the costume. And I hand trimmed the hat. I also made a green spencer jacket to go with the outfit. But I don't have it on in the picture.
