Brookshire Brothers for me! Closest one is in Dayton for me...i think it is a south texas thing only. I think Brookshire's Grocery is mostly in northern Texas around dallas,,i used to live in Fort Worth so i am mildly familiar with the area wide grocery stores. Is anyone going to post the local brookshire's for my area? i get the ad every week, if anyone is in my area i'd be glad to get with you on posting them. :wink7::RockOn:

Brookshire Brothers for me too! I can shop at the ones in Cleveland, New Caney, Dayton or Liberty since all are not that far from me. And, if you live in the same area of Texas I do...you can't shop at Brookshire Grocery unless you travel a VERY long distance.

Well JANE you answered my question about if they double or triple coupons.
I will be about 10 mins from Brookshire Bros in Montgomery near Lake Conroe.

I shop Brookshire Brothers when they have good sales. Otherwise it's HEB for me!

Brookshire's will only double or triple every so often...and then they will only do 1 coupon, no multiples.
I would personally rather drive an hour and a half to shop at Krogers....LOL

I emailed Brookshire Brothers about their coupon policy and this is the first response I received…
Thank you for utilizing our company website to submit your inquiry. We triple coupons up to 39˘; 40˘ to 50˘ are double and 51˘ and up are face value. I hope this is what you needed. If you have any further questions, please feel free to respond back.

I then sent another email and asked whether this was the policy at ALL of their stores and this was the second response…
We have a few stores that are currently doing the double/triple coupons. In your area, the Dayton and Liberty stores are both on the double/triple coupon program.

I'm originally from Tyler (Brookshire's Grocery Hometown). I moved over an hour away in Wylie and we have one. I rarely use it though because I have Albertson's, Kroger and Tom Thumb who double and triple coupons.
I personally think the further you get from Tyler the worse the stores are. :(

I shop at Brookshires weekly, it's the only grocery store in town. How much I buy depends on my Kroger or Walmart trips.

I shop at Brookshire's occasionally. My parents live in Aledo, TX and there's a Brookshires near their house. I used to work there when I was in high school.

Hey Dallasmom2,
I'm in Whiskey Flats, you know where that is don't you? When did you work at Brookshire's? Bet I've seen you there.

Hi Grandma Lewis! :wavehi:
I know Whiskey Flats! I worked at Brookshires from 1991-1994. Back then it was IGA Thrift Mart.

I didn't know it used to be an IGA. I thought it was only Winn Dixie before it was Brookshire's. Learn something new everyday.
We moved out here in 2000, so I guess I missed you at the store. :frown:
Small world huh?

I shop Brookshires sometimes but generally find their prices to be a little on the expensive side. I do occasionally price match their ads though.

I live in a small town with only a Brookshire Bros. (Kountze Tx) but I usually drive to Kroger or HEB Plus for my shopping. BB is too expensive and their good deal items usually require an add'l $10 purchase.

Well, actually it was Winn Dixie, sort of. When my family moved to Aledo in 1987, the only grocery store was IGA Thrift Mart, and it was across the highway from where it is now. You know where the State Farm and the license tag office is? That was the old Thrift Mart. Then they built the Winn Dixie in I think 1997 or 1998, then when WD closed, Brookshires bought the building and moved to the other side of I-20.
I'm full of useless information and trivia, lol!! But that area has grown by leaps and bounds! I remember when all there was to Willow Park was the Chevron station and Thrift Mart.
BTW, did you ever go to the East Parker County library? If you did you may have met my mom. She worked there until she had hip surgery about a year and half ago. Her name is Linda.

I thought you were talking about the Brookshire's in Benbrook. It was a Winn Dixie in 1985, I'm almost sure because at the time I was working for Safeway and we went to Benbrook lake and I remember thinking they get all the lake business.

I can do the same thing with lots of places in Ft Worth. I remember going to places where now, you wouldn't drive through in the daylight.

Are you talking about the one in Aledo? I was there once doing some genealogy research. They had a book that the FW library didn't have. I was very impressed with that library. For such a small library, they had a good variety of subjects and it was full of people....and to have a genealogy section too. Wow! I need to go back, thanks for reminding me.
I hope your mom is doing well.

Thanks! She's doing pretty well, I see her at least once or twice a week. The library in Aledo is really nice for such a small one, I agree. She really loved working there. Now she enjoys being a grandma, lol!
I sometimes go to the Brookshires in Willow Park when I'm in their area. They have some good deals sometimes. When my Dad goes grocery shopping that's the only place he goes. Mom would rather go to Walmart in Hudson Oaks.
My husband and I go to White Bluff in Whitney a lot and there's a Brookshires right down the road. I was thinking the same thing about that location - they must get a lot of business from the lake.

I used to shop at Brookshires. I live in Granbury and I can't tell you the last time they had a week with double/triple coupons. So I've stopped shopping there for the most part, unless I need something quick. Otherwise, I go across town to Kroger's. But I really like the Brookshire's here, and the employees. It's a shame I can't shop there with coupons.

I am from Lufkin where they have their headquarters. The one on Frank st. has double and triple coupons, I don't know about the other store. I do know their prices are ridiculous most of the time. That leaves you with HEB which I like ok, but has its drawbacks here and wal-mart which has construction . sooo pick your poison.

I live in Lindale, Tx. Just north of Tyler. I have to either shop at Brookshires or Walmart. Albertsons is about 30 min away. Our Brookshires has only doubled coupons I think once that I can remember.
I miss the grocery stores back east. I am from PA. We had Weis, Giant, Wegmans to name a few. So many options. Lots of selection. Here I am unable to find so many items. I usually have to special order soy products from the health food store...by the way...they won't give out thier phone number so I have to drag to little kids under age 2 with me to order things.
I wish another store would come in. Some competition would be good.:rolleyes24:

DH and I just got back from Brookshire Bros. after stocking up on meat and chicken. Though I feel the deal at Kroger right now with the B1G1 free chicken is way better.

I shop at the Dayton, Liberty, Livingston and Cleveland Stores depending on where I'm going. I live right in the middle so it depends on what I have to do for the day. I know these four stores triple to .39 and double from .40 to .50. Kroger is too far for me so every once in a while I'll drive to the Porter Kroger.

I use Brookshire's in Allen, TX. They use the double/triple policy most stores do here: Up to 39cents are tripled, 40-50cents are doubled and everything else is at face value.

I use the Brookshire's. The store I use double and triple as well. There is a Kroger there. I think they try to stay with the competion. I have another Brookshires that is a little closer but no double since none of the competition does.

I have a brookshire brothers in Jasper, we have that, super WM and a walgreens.
I too dont shop there (except when I need a birthday cake, they are SOOOO good) cause the prices are too high. BUT I price match at WM from their sales.
This is SOOO not working out for me. But with 4 kids its hard to go in a bunch of differnt stores and shop for deals.

I to am not fond of Brookshire's as their prices are a little high even with the sale prices. They do not double or triple very often here.
And lately the sale Ads have been really bad

I shop the Brookshires in Forney but when I lived in Kaufman that was my favorite Brookshires. We also have a Walmart, new CVS and Walgreens. I tend to shop at all of them depending on the sales.

Erikamomof5- I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE the Kaufman Brookshires. Especially their seafood market and the full service del. We live in Kemp so we usually frequent the Seven Points store.
I bet you love Forney more though... Walgreens/CVS is right around the corner. Looks as though Seagoville is growing too.

08-19-2008, 06:51:26 PM
twinzmom903-yes we love Forney but the Brookshires here is nothing compared to the one in Kaufman. Plus, when you live in a place for 7 years you get to know everyone that works at the store, pharmacist, bakery, deli, ect. Yes, I used to LOVE going to my Kaufman Brookshires. Yeah, Seago is growing but a little scary after dark at some of those stores. I am sooooo happy that CVS opened in Forney.
My mother-in-law lived in Seven Points for 15 years, just moved across the lake to Gun Barrel. She still goes to First Baptist Seven Points though.

I agree re: Seagoville after dark.. YIKES!!! We attend Hillcrest Baptist in Kemp.. New pastor just recently from FORNEY! He was the Youth Pastor at First Baptist/Forney... Bro. Stan..
I've got my coupons in order PRAYING for a Moonlight Madness Sale/Thursday... Just waiting on the online ad to show tomorrow morning.
I receive the Minyards advertisement via snail mail.. and it hasn't been that great. I usually take the Carnival ad to Walmart because the produce is cheaper and I can comp that. (www.minyards.com (http://www.minyards.com)) and view the Sack and Save and Carnival there too!
Nice to meet ya!

We go to church at Lakepointe in Rockwall. We went to First Baptist Kaufman for a little over a year before we moved here. Driving from Scurry to Rockwall became a lot after we had our 5th so we decided to go to FBK. When we moved to Forney then we went back to Lakepointe. We love it!
The Walmart in Forney will only match ads on their direct competition. It tried to match an ad from David's (love their Sat. sales) and they said they would only match ads to Kroger, Brookshires, Albertsons and Tom Thumb. I check all the ads on line and if Alberstons is having a big 10 for $10 sale then I'll go into Sunnyvale and do the sale (they triple coupons). When I go to Rockwall I do Kroger.
Yes, I did really well at the last Brookshires Madness sale. I did see a few things this week that I'm excited about :General Mills cereal 2 for $4 (-75 coupons on curves cereal & frosted cheerios. Also excited to use my -$1 coupon for Juicy Juice after coupon 88 cents and I have a $1 coupon for Peter Pan Peanut Butter so that makes it 50 cents, the $1 Betty Crocker brownie mix -75 off 2 coupon. Last week I got some great deals too. Not ever a whole bunch but just enough to bring me in the store.

Erika, One of my dear friends attend FBC-Kaufman you may know them..... the Donahues. LakePointe is a HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEEE church! I just started couponing so my coupon patch is pretty scarce. ((started Aug 3rd)). So, I'm picking up little deals (here and there).
Have a super rest of the week and weekend!

I had to look in my FBC picture directory to see what the Donahues look like. Yes, I remember them sitting a few rows in front of us. They weren't in my Sunday School class. We were (still go to class functions) in the Seekers class. Love those guys. Such wonderful relationships made at that church!
Yes, Lakepointe is HUGE but we are in a great Adult Bible Fellowship that has about 10 families. It keeps things small and personal. I am planning our fall camping trip!
To get your stash going, buy at least 2 papers each week. If you know elderly folks that don't use coupons mention to them that you do.
I just noticed the ages of your children. I have a 10 yr.old-Lucas, 8 yr. old-Madalene, 6 yr old-Samuel, 4 yr. old-Nathaniel & almost 3 yr. old-Benjamin.
Have a great weekend! Nice talking to you.
