I recently got 2 hermit crabs. I am in process of getting a bigger terrarium. I REALLY want one of those plastic/acrylic ones from the 70's with the pedastal base and 'globe' shape top. Will prob never find 1 cheap though! UGh
Anyway, are there any crab owners out there? If so I need suggestions of what they will need/like and 'cheap' suppliers.
:thanks7:

Congrats on your new friends! I started off with 2 and now have 15. :)
They like things to climb on...rocks, plants, etc. Decorations for aquariums work well too depending on the size of your terrarium. Lots of different sized shells. I have a couple that change shells daily and some that rarely change shells.
My favorite place to get supplies for them is Pet Discounters (http://www.petdiscounters.com/Hermit-Crab-Supplies_c_2312.html). They always have fantastic sales & clearance items.

I always kept mine in a glass tank. If you are looking for cheap glass tanks, Petco has its dollar per gallon sale going on until the 16th I believe. 20 Gallon tank for $20 is a pretty good deal.

I actually have had 2 glass tanks offered to me by friends. So that will work out . LOve free.
Thanks for the tips. I am a newbie to hermit crabs and I just wanna make sure I care for them correctly.
